Tisca Chopra: Code Red is something which we have partnered with our upcoming film Rahasya

The actress talks about her new TV show during the launch

Code Red, a social TV show compiling three different segments about topics like suicide, violence against women and various psychological disorders, was launched here today.The show, to be premiered on Colors channel on January 19, was inaugurated by retired Indian Police Service officer Kiran Bedi, actress Tisca Chopra, Rishi Jaitly, Twitter Head (India) and actor Manish Chaudhary among others at Hindu College, Delhi University today. The launch took place via a panel discussion on the various social issues grappling the society like crime against women and men, child molestation and gender inequality.

Code Red is something which we have partnered with our upcoming film Rahasya. In the film there is an 18-year-old girl who has been killed. I play her mother. Code Red also talks about issues within the family which are kept bottled up, secret and don’t come out,” Tisca said.

The three prominent themes will feature six episodes. The first theme Umeed will focus on people, who are on the verge of ending their lives. Awaaz will focus on violence against women and children, and Chakravyuh will show various forms of entrapment-physical and psychological.

Each theme will be helmed by a different production house and the stories will be presented by TV actress Sakshi Tanwar.Actors Manish, in the role of an NGO representative, and Yash Sinha, as a crime reporter, will take the audience through various instances where circumstances and  conditions pushed a person against the wall.

“With Code red, we are going a step further by showcasing stories of human frailties and urging people to speak up on issues that are disturbing to them and the people around them. It is not just a show but a movement to get people believe that hope can be found,” said Raj Nayak, CEO Colors.
