The new Shashi-Sumeet Mittal show, Dream Girl Ek Ladki Deewani Si will be replacing Sonali Bendre and Apurva Agnihotri’s Ajeeb Dastaan Hai Yeh. The show will go on air from March 9, at 9:30 pm.
The story of the show revolves around a girl Lakshmi (Nikita Dutta), who aspires to become a big star like Ayesha (Shraddha Arya). Ayesha is her idol, someone she aims to be like someday. The story, set in Rajasthan, has a rustic approach to it. The show seems like the story of every struggler who comes to Mumbai with a dream to be like Shah Rukh Khan. But Lakshmi’s dream to come to Mumbai also doesn’t seem to come true. She prays, steals money and goes to the fortune teller as well with the hope to someday reach Mumbai – the city of dreams. How she achieves this goal forms the rest of the story.
The promo looks interesting as the makers have caught the essence of Rajasthan in their promo. Interestingly, the trailer showcases Lakshmi but only gives a glimpse of Ayesha. You will notice her in the backdrop, and posters and wall paintings. Now that seems like an interesting approach to showcase Shraddha, right?
