Hailing from TV, Karan Singh Grover and Jay Bhanushali had no qualms signing erotic movies as their debut projects, but Kushal Tandon wants no part of it
Just a few weeks back the ex-Bigg Boss contestant had signed his debut Bollywood project and now we hear he’s already backed out of it – why so confused dude?
Kushal Tandon, who began his career as Virat in Star Plus’ Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behnaa Hai became a well known face in the telly industry after he signed up for Bigg Boss. His link up with Gauahar Khan and their subsequent show together – Khatron Ke Khiladi kept the actor in news; subsequently the couple fell out of love and ended it.
A few weeks back Kushal announced about his Bollywood debut – Romila. During the press conference of the film, Kushal almost reveal the plot of the film. Romila is an erotic drama set in Goa and is to be directed by Jaswant Khera.
The latest update is that the actor has backed out of the project. A source claims that Kushal apparently didn’t want to start his career with an erotic film. He wants a regular Bollywood potboiler as his debut project. Well, didn’t Kushal know what he wants to do before signing the film? Why this change of heart? However we also heard that Kushal didn’t exactly walk out of the film, instead the filmmakers decided to change the hero because the actor needed attitude adjustment.On June 25th he tweeted, “Whatever happens happens for good, period.” After this news came out Kushal tweeted, “Yes guys it’s true, love to all, rukavat ke liye khaid hai.”
Armed with the information and to clear our doubts we called Kushal to know about his side of the story. He said, “The project on the whole had really excited me at first cause it was that of a rockstar and the film had great music. But somehow after putting a lot of thought to it. I realised that it would be a very predictable typecast debut for me in bollywood. People expect me to be the young casanova bad boy. In the past also I have declined roles that are not challenging or won’t stand out. I feel I have age and time in hand.. Am constantly working on myself in not just reinventing but also learning. So here’s to looking forward to more excitement. Cause I know I won’t falter a good opportunity when it comes.”
So Kushal is back to looking for his ideal Bollywood debut and spending all his time reading scripts. We hope the day comes soon and the dishy actor get’s his dream role. Until then we’ll just ogle at shirtless pictures on Instagram and Twitter.
