The first episode has not even aired and we are already getting whiffs of controversies

Rumour has it that Shakti Arora and Neha Saxena are one of the contestants on Nach Baliye 7. According to the new format, the contestants have to stay away from everyone and everything during their term in the show. No contact from the outside world is allowed except for an occasional call to the family – so we hear.

Considering Shakti Arora is a lead actor in Colors’ Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi, it could pose a problem for the smooth running of the show. But Ekta Kapoor, who is the producer of both Nach Baliye and Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi took care of the issue by changing the plot and introducing a new character Shikhar (Arjun Bijlani) in the show. But we hear that the channel is not okay with the change of plans.

According to a leading daily, on Thursday (April 23) Shakti decided to back out of the show. Now the actor claimed that it was a family emergency and had nothing to do with the channel, but there seems to be more to it than what meets the eye.

Rumours suggest that the channel pressurised Shakti to pick between the two shows and the actor preferred to stay with his daily soap than do the reality show. Well this is certainly not the first time this has happened. If you remember, a few months back Shah Rukh Khan was hosting a show called India Poochega Sabse Shaana Kaun on &TV and he invited Kapil Sharma as his guest. While Kapil jumped up at the opportunity, the channel asked the actor not to shoot for a rival channel as he was the host of Comedy Nights with Kapil on Colors. When questioned the channel said that it was Kapil’s decision, but Kapil lashed out saying that he would never say no to Shah Rukh Khan and the channel should take ownership of their decisions.

So now it’s still a bit unclear as to why exactly Shakti decided to quit Nach Baliye 7, but all said and done, we know he would have made the competition more interesting and competitive.

Cricket and the glamour industry has always been like hand in glove, but this is not the same

Very few know that before becoming an actor, the hot and humourous Karan Wahi aspired to be a cricketer.      In fact he played for the under 19 team from Delhi along with Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan back in the days.

A freak accident unfortunately ruined Karan’s chances to play cricket. After his injury Karan was very dejected and decided to join his father’s business and then he tried the glamour world. In spite of going separate ways, Karan and Virat have till date maintained their friendship.

The two stood for each other in their time of need. Some time back Karan tweeted about Virat, “It feels like an old match whr indias number 4 batsmen gets us so close to victory n we still can’t win it for him…well played @imVkohli.” [sic] The cricketer also found ways to support his star friend when he was dancing on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. Virat tweeted, “Please vote for my good friend KARAN WAHI in jhalak dikhlaja.” Like they say – ‘A friend in need is a friend indeed.”

In an interview with a popular radio channel, Karan revealed that Virat is a foodie but he has now started taking care about his body and the way he looks. Well not many people would believe that Wahi is a fitness freak too provided no one show him food. The two have a lot like that in common; strangely, we’ve not seen the two together in any social gatherings or parties. Wonder why that is?

While there were suggestions that the Dhoom actress chickened out after developing a cold feet, BollywoodLife has dug a little deeper to find out that it was MTV Roadies that was responsible for Esha’s walkout. That’s right! A fair feathered friend from the industry said that the Deol gal ‘is planning a dashing comeback with Roadies and the makers are conscious of the image’ they want the actress to have on the show.

Now, anybody who follows Raghu Ram’s show will know that the adventurous and voyeuristic reality show requires a certain edgy image. So, Esha thought that it’s best to keep herself away from the Bharatnatyam performance and instead wait to re-introduce herself in her new hot avatar in the latest season of Roadies. Now we’re sure her Mommy dearest wouldn’t mind letting her daughter off considering that it is her career ka sawaal!

Esha isn’t the only one to have cancelled her performance. Salman Khan’s Kick heroine, Jacqueline Fernandez too was to groove at this function along with other celebrities like Shraddha Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor,. However, after the show got postponed from April 12 to April 25th the actress cited date issues and bowed out of the programme.

In spite of doing so many films like Jism 2, Ragini MMS 2, Hate Story 2 and Ek Paheli Leela the actress is still considered as an adult entertainer and nothing more. The proof of this came across whenc refused to let the actor promote her upcoming film with Ram Kapoor on daily soaps.

A source informs that while most movies are promoted on Hindi GECSs they are not willing to promote anything erotic on family channels. Well the condition seems a little absurd, considering all her previous films were promoted on all the Hindi GECs, then what changed now? When she was only a porn star, channels used her to up their numbers and suddenly Leone is too much for these family TV channels, what hypocrites.

Apparently, the channels claim that they don’t have any shows which can accommodate Sunny Leone. The duo recently promoted the film at a mall in the suburbs of Mumbai. Sunny and Ram Kapoor were joined by Debutant Navdeep Chchabra and Shraddha Pandit, who sang hit numbers from the movie.

Nach Baliye 7 on Star Plus promises to be high ‘too much’ this year. Of course we already know which couples will be setting the stage on fire and that is somehow making us more impatient. So here’s five reasons’ why you shouldn’t miss the first episode of Nach Baliye 7.

#The ‘too much’ tagline indicates that NB7 will be very different and hatke this time. The 11 couples competing for the trophy will be put through the toughest tests tonight and we’ll see them succeed and fail.

#Three new judges will take their seat on the panel. Now this is an unexpected bunch and we really hope they meet our expectations. After playing mentor on Dance India Dance, we are sure Marzi Pestonji will be perfect on the seat. We are actually waiting to see Preity Zinta and Chetan Bhagat and figure out what the makers really had in their minds when they brought them on board.

#The new format of the dance show is again something that will be completely new on the show. Waiting to finally see what changes Ekta Kapoor has made on the show to keep us hooked.

#Krishma Tanna and Upen Patel declared that they are dating each other as they came out of Bigg Boss, now we have see how compatible they really are. Rigourous training and constant tension is bound to reveal the reel from the real.

#Every year the dancing gets more intense and more exciting. Of course we are also watching the show to see how creative they get and see if we can maybe ape a few moves here and there.

So we are already glued to out TV sets waiting for Nach Baliye to start, are you?

The battle has begun on the dance field and from all that we’ve seen so far – the couples have worn their dancing shoes and come armed with swords to win it

Nach Baliye 7 began with the khatta-meetha couple Rashami Desai and Nandish Sandhu. They showed their struggles and the troubles they’ve been through and how they are still together. Amruta Khanvilkar and Himmanshoo Malhotra came next and did a fantastic act. They pushed their level and created a benchmark with their performance. Preity Zinta, Chetan Bhagat and Marzi Pestonji gave the couple a standing ovation for their splendid act. But when it came to giving scores Preity gave them nine while the other awarded them full scores. Preity’s justification was that there is always scope for improvement.

Shakti Arora and Neha Saxena were introduced by by Radhika Madaan of Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi and they gave a decent performance – nothing great not too bad either. Then came in Arpit Ranka with his wife Nidhi, who by the looks of it didn’t really know how to dance. And we were right, but the couple tried their best and gave an honest effort.

When it came to scores Marzi gave them a six and Chetan gave the couple a seven, but it was Preity’s score that shocked us. She gave the couple a nine. Actually throughout the episode, Preity has been randomly giving scores which make no sense. If a couple gets a standing ovation then they should get full marks too. And if a certain couple doesn’t do good enough, she should tell them that and score accordingly, no?

We thought Preity was quiet lenient and at times unfair in her scoring. What do you think?

Here’s a review of the first episode of the dance reality show…

Nach Baliye has been one of the most watched reality TV shows in India. A show which is being watched not just by the youngsters but by people across age groups. It has been one of the most watched dance shows not just for the dance performances but for the chemistry between the real-life couples. This season too brings together an assimilation of 11 couples who are there not just to prove their prowess in dance but also their romantic quotient between each other.

5 things that I loved about the show:

-Chetan Bhagat was an absolute delight. For the first time I saw a reality show where the judge was not just saying good things about the contestants but also pointed out their short comings.

-Himmanshoo A Malhotra and Amruta Khanvilkar’s performance was brilliant. Out of all the couples, their performance scored 29 points and won immunity from next weeks eliminations.

-The format of the show seems great. This time there will be no public voting till the finale. That way the dance performances will be judged on their dancing ability and not by their fan following.

-Hosts Karan Patel and Rithvik Dhanjani were good. They managed to make you laugh at times and also stood up to the judges whenever necessary.

-The surprises that the makers of the show got was commendable. Whether it was the video messages from parents of Mrunal Thakur and Sharad Chandra or it was Aishwarya Sakhluja’s dad’s sudden arrival — all was very well timed. It created the necessary emotional quotient, which was necessary in such a show.

5 things I hated about the show:

-Preity Zinta was very lenient as a judge. She was giving 9 points to every contestant and it seemed she was just trying to boost the morale of the contestants.

-Fights between Marzi Pastronji and Chetan Bhagat were fun for the first few times, but later on it became painful. You could make it out that it was scripted.

-The 2.5 hour long duration of the episode was really tiring. Even die hard fans of the show would have got tired and felt like leaving switching over to another show.

-The show’s format seems to have been turned into a daily episodic show. It will be aired like Bigg Boss, which isn’t that cool. If we did want to see boys and girls stranded inside a house, we would watch Bigg Boss and not Nach Baliye. But the mystery is still not clear about the same. It will be done in tomorrow’s episode.

-Some of the dance performances were a bit too mechanical.  Many contestant seemed like they were doing PT exercises and they did not enjoy much while performing.

We knew celebrities are visiting the show but we din’t see this one coming

Colors’ latest edition of India’s Got Talent is proving to be more entertaining than ever before. The sixth season saw celebrity performers setting the stage afire. After Akshay Kumar, Karan Tacker, Mouni Roy and others, we now have PM Narendra Modi visiting the judges- Karan Johar, Malaika Arora Khan and Kirron Kher.

Excited? Don’t be because it’s NOT our beloved PM. It is in fact a lookalike of Modi. Gotcha!

The coming episode of the talent hunt show will see contestants performing outdoor stunts of which we had given you a glimpse. We now have some more intriguing pics from the sets. Apart from the Modi lookalike, the upcoming episode will also see Bharti Singh entertaining audiences with her comic gaon ki gori stint along with Nakuul Mehta. Going by the pictures, it seems like the hunar this season is multiplied several times as hunarzaade (contestants) give mind blowing performances.

And with every thing so grand, why do you think the judges will be left behind. While Mrs Kher made a queen-like entry on the show, Karan and Malaika looked like they were sent from above… quite literally.

The Dil Dhadakne Do actor recently flew down to America to appear as a guest star on Seth Macfarlane’s comedy show Family Guy…

Anil Kapoor feels honoured to be a guest star on Family Guy. The actor who will soon be seen playing Priyanka Chopra and Ranveer Singh’s father in Dil Dhadakne Do, tweeted out some pictures from his dubbing session for the special Family Guy episode.

Before beginning the dubbing session, Anil shared with his followers that he was super-excited to be a part of the popular adult animated comedy show. This is not Anil Kapoor’s first venture in Hollywood. He has feature in the Oscar-winning Danny Boyle film Slumdog Millionaire. He also appeared on the US TV show 24. He flew down to Los Angeles to dub for the Family Guy part.

We are yet to find out what his role in the episode is! Any guesses?

Though the couple is divorced, Krishna is still in love with her ex-wife

So far on Suhani Si Ek Ladki, we saw how Soumya (Neha Yadav) realises that Krishna (Ankur Verma) is still in love with her when she bumps into Rakhi in the market and the latter spills the beans. Rakhi, instigated by Soumya, Yuvraj (Sahil Mehta) and Suhani’s (Rajshri Rani Pandey) accusations about her brother, happens to tell Soumya how they forced Krishna into signing the divorce papers and that he did not even know about the money his family had taken for the divorce. Soumya even finds out that Krishna’s love letter were sent back to him burnt and that Krishna has still kept the ashes safe. She walks out of the shop without buying anything. She’s in a foul mood when she reaches home and starts looking for the love letters. Obviously, she doesn’t find them.

Meanwhile, Dadi (Shashi Sharma) is worried about Soumya still having feelings for Krishna and also about the fact that Soumya had gotten physical with Krishna. In bid to regain her chastity and purity before getting her married to Yuvraj, Dadi decides to do a pooja, without telling anyone what it’s about. Only Ragini (Sonu Chandrapal) knows the truth here. Of course everyone else gets suspicious and tries to find out what Dadi is upto.

Later at the dining table, Dadi calls for Soumya on not seeing her around. On arriving Soumya confronts Dadi about the love letters being burnt and sent to Krishna and while she’s in the middle of accusing Dadi, Soumya starts to faint as she’s empty stomach and anaemic. While everybody at the table rushes to help her, even Rags, Yuvraj  pretends to not bother about her at all. This hurts Soumya more than anything else.

The upcoming episode will see Soumya and Yuvraj sitting for the pooja. But Dadi’s pln to finish off everything without letting anyone know about it is not going to go well because Suhani has realised what Dadi is really upto. She stops the pooja in between. But how will Dadi react to it?

The coming few weeks see Soumya realising the fact that Dadi has been using her to get rid of Suhani and has therefore gotten her separated from Krishna. Soumya who has long since started disliking and questioning Dadi’s ways is going to be shocked on finding out what the whole pooja and ritual is about. Obviously she feels humiliated about it. Also Soumya will finally begin to see Krishna’s love for her; especially after Yuvraj’s nonchalance towards her. Soumya is soon to realise her mistake, realise what she’s given up for a few material gains.

But will Krishna accept her back in his life? Time will tell. Stay tuned for more updates on the show!

Talking about the new format of the show, this season there will be no public voting. Yes, you read that right. The three judges will be giving the dance performances points as usual, but this time it will be these points that will decide the fate of the contestants on the show. The couple who will be getting the maximum points will be immune from the elimination of next week.

The first episode was very entertaining, somewhat because of the contestants superb dance performance and somewhat because of the fights between the judges. Yes, this season promises to have full fights between the judges especially Chetan and Marzi.

Today’s episode saw some brilliant dance performances. Finally, Himmanshoo A Malhotra and Amruta Khanvilkar were declared the winners for the day with the maximum points. The other couples will not be immune from elimination next week.

The show keeps it real and believable…

Hardly does TV shows let the main leads meet each other so soon and so early and that’s where it seems, Itna Karo Na Mujhe Pyar, differs. Ragini’s (Pallavi Kulkarni) misunderstanding about Suhaani’s (Palak Jain) parentage has been cleared and she apologises to Nachiket (Ronit Roy) for doubting him. It definitely is unusual to see the female central character accept her folly and say sorry for her behaviour.

We say so because often we either see the female lead siding with her husband and trying to wriggle out the truth with much help from him or the husband decides to pay heed to hearsay and throw her out. Ragini’s confession that she wasted 15 years thinking Nachiket cheated on her made the drama extremely human. It is very human for a woman to doubt her husband and act upon it.

What also makes it believable is Nachiket’s reaction to Ragini’s confession. He tries to calm her down and tell her that he was at fault too. All these years, he never tried to clear the differences which only piled up. That’s a genuine declaration because he could have easily proved his innocence in last 15 years.

The actor has warned people not to tag him with his ex Gauahar in pictures, YET again. Why such hatred, Mr Tandon?

I always admire couples who declare their love and don’t fear judgement or speculations of any sort. One such jodi was Kushal Tandon and Gauahar Khan, who fell in love during the seventh season of Bigg Boss and openly confessed their love for one another on the show.I believed theirs, was a relationship that would last long but unfortunately, another one bit the dust. It was soon splitsville for the two love birds and the fight was a bitter one, as made obvious by Kushal Tandon. The actor has put forth a tweet which clearly hints at there existing some bad blood between him and Gauahar. “Last warning stop tagging me with that #gk #past plZ grow up n move plZ plz ne one I c on my time line tagging me with her wil be blocked,” read his recent tweet.

The model lashed out on Twitter, warning those who continue to tag him with his ex- flame in pictures. This isn’t the first time where Kushal has lost his cool. He had made such a plea before, requesting fans and peers to stop tagging him with Gauahar. Well I get why Kushal would be irked by this practice but why not put it forth in a humbler way? I can’t get over the fact that the hunk used “that” Gauhar Khan in his Tweet! “stop tagging me with that #gk” he wrote. Really Kushal? Now you are simply coming across as this sour lad who lacks the ability to handle tricky situations in a gracious manner.

Why such hatred Mr Tandon? Get over it or if something irks you, put it across in a more grounded manner! It’s much more mature than putting forth tweets with words “warning” or “that” Gauahar Khan. Well I guess he assumed that this tweet of his would receive flak which is why he has deleted it from his Twitter account!

There is nothing more important than kids for parents, not even they themselves, but is it the same for kids too

The current track of Diya Aur Baati Hum is exploring the dynamics of the father-son bond which makes for a good change after the umpteen saas-bahu sagas. We know that Sooraj (Anas Rashid) is a loving husband and an obedient son but he’s also proving to be the perfect father- loving, caring, papering, providing. He’s a father that most of us can relate to.

While his world begins and ends on his son, Ved, the same is not the case with Ved. He does love his father but is embarrassed by the fact that his father is a Halwai, unlike the big-shot dads of his friends. So he goes ahead lying to his friends that his father is the owner of a 5 star hotel, which coincidently is named Sooraj Hotel. Now, he also includes Sooraj and Sandhya (Deepika Singh) into his lie by forcing them throw a birthday party there but looks like the cat will soon be out of the bag as Sandhya intends to play the CD of Ved’s reading out an essay on his father which reveals to his friends that his father is a Halwai. Ved will receive a lot of flak for his lie and will have to face Sandhya’s outburst too. But the one person who’ll be affected most by all this is, Sooraj.

The man, who never cared for anything more than his son, will be dejected to know that his son doesn’t respect him for what he is. He’ll finally come to realise how he’s spent all his life thinking about other before himself, how he let go of his own dreams for the sake of his family, how he’s being thought low of by his own son. With this fact staring him in the face, Sooraj will embark upon a new journey- a journey towards fulfilling his own dreams and desires.

A leading entertainment portal quoted a source saying, “Seeing Ved’s embarrassment towards his dad’s profession, Sooraj will breakdown and realize that over the years, he didn’t actually follow his dreams. From here, Sooraj will decide to start off with a new journey which will take him towards his dream – his dream of becoming the owner of a big hotel. Bhabho (Neelu Vaghela) too realizes that he took the responsibility of the house on his shoulders at a very early age and he didn’t get time to pursue his dreams. So, Bhabho and his better half Sandhya will support Sooraj to pursue his dream and make everyone proud.”

Let’s hope he does achieve his goal and that Ved realises how great a father he has. Fingers Cross!

Not all decisions can be classified as right or wrong; sometimes there’s a lot of collateral damage involved in both cases

The last episode of Jodha Akbar saw Jalal’s army winning the war against Badksha. Jalal proposes to the defeated king that he could either live and help Jalal in his war against Iran or die. Where on one hand Jalal (Rajat Tokas), Murad (Sheezan K Mohd) and Salim are celebrating their victory, Jodha (Paridhi Sharma) on the other, is stuck in a very tricky situation.

We know that Jodha is in charge of the kingdom while Jalal is away. But what should she do when family and work cross paths. She had earlier questioned her mother-in-law when the latter had gone to meet the Irani Shah. To this Hamida had said she’ll answer these questions in front of everybody in the Deewan-e-Khas (the court). Now Jodha is torn between her responsibility as a Queen and that of as a daughter-in-law.

When in court, Hamida claims that she had gone to settle things with old friends who have turned foes because Jodha wouldn’t change her religion. Hamida blamed Jodha for this war and held her responsible for all the lives that will be lost during the war. Hamida begins to hyper ventilate while firing accusations at Jodha and eventually faints dropping to the floor.

In the upcoming episode, we’ll see Gul Badan blaming Jodha for Hamida’s condition. She will make Jodha realise that it wasn’t right on her part to question her mother-in-law like this. And that Hamida was so deeply hurt because she always thought of Jodha as her own daughter and never expected Jodha to go against her (Hamida).

The coming few episodes will see a lot more drama around Jodha and Hamida’s spoilt relations and that of Salim and Murad’s bitter equation. Though Salim is happy that Murad fought so well in his very first war, Murad is still holding a grudge against his brother and does not seem to be in any mood of forgiving him.

How the family sorts things out is something we’ll have to wait and watch. So stay tuned!

The kids are in peril with no help in sight, thanks to their father…

It isn’t easy to lose your mother to death and have a fugitive for a father. Disha (Mahima Makwana) and her little brother are struggling to make peace with their present situation. Last episode shattered Disha’s life with her father Ram (Ram Kapoor) owning up to what everyone has been telling her – of killing her mother. Crestfallen, Disha decides to severe all ties with him, but the road ahead doesn’t seem smooth for these abandoned kids.

In the upcoming episode, Disha will be seen grappling with the many challenges of running a house. With every food stock in the house dwindling, she has nowhere to look up to. If that wasn’t enough, one of her teachers would ask her to pay up the school fees or she and her brother might get expelled. Her neighbours, who till recently were very generous, start to behave haughtily.

How will Disha manage everything if she doesn’t make peace with her father? But the more important question is why didn’t Ram try to reason with Disha? Now with him meeting with an accident, what lies ahead for these unfortunate kids who is facing all the struggle for no fault of theirs. The dance reality show went on air on April 26

After captivating audiences of the small screen with engrossing tales in the fiction genre, Ekta Kapoor has ventured into non-fiction format with reality show Nach Baliye 7. The TV tsarina says the ongoing season will unfold many facets of a relationship and terms judge and author Chetan Bhagat as the ‘X-Factor’ of the show.

Bhagat has taken up the role of a judge for the seventh season of the Star Plus show, which Ekta is producing. He is accompanied by actress Preity Zinta and choreographer Marzi Pestonji on the judges panel.

“Dance is just one part of expression and with the new format, we are trying to explore layers of each relationship so that we will see a lot more storytelling in the dance defined by the couples journey in the week.

“Since this year is all about too much, we thought why not go ahead with another twist and bring in someone that people would not normally expect. Chetan is the X-Factor of the show and his role on the show will be that of a motivator and story teller, he will focus on finding the real perfect couple on Nach Baliye,” she said in a statement.

Credited for shows like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Pavitra Rishta and Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, Ekta says with the dance reality show she is “exploring 11 different stories of these jodis (couples) and that is my reason for doing this show”.

A lot of twists and turns are planned for the seventh season of the show which will take audiences into the world of celebrity couples.

“Viewers today want to see more than just glamour and glitz – they want to see the celebrities with masks off. The fresh judging panel will bring varied perspectives to each relationship and entertainment to the show – Preity, Marzi and Chetan,” Ekta said.

Ekta also pointed out that “the main idea is test each jodi on how well they know and understand each other. They will be judged on key aspects that make any relationship work, so will be taking them through a challenge based on trust, another one based on team work, one on compatibility and so on”.

One of the changes is scrapping the audience voting system. And Ekta says the decision to evict couples will be based on the love meter and dance skills.

“Every week, basis the love challenge, the jodi that scores the maximum points gets love power, which makes them safe from saying goodbye to the show. They have the power to choose another jodi to be safe with them.

“And obviously, keeping in mind that the show is primarily a dance show, the jodi with top points also gets the love power and and safe that week. However, basis the dance performance and the judges points, jodis will either be safe or face Nach ka The End,” she said.

There were reports that Ekta may appear on the show as a ‘maha judge’. Without refuting the reports, Ekta says the audience should gear up for the unexpected this season.

“’Nach Baliye’ is going to be too much. There are surprises on every turn, so never know what comes next,” she said.
