Shahid Kapoor’s television  debut as Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8 judge alongside Karan Johar, Lauren Gottlieb and Ganesh Hegde will go on air this weekend. Interestingly, his ex-girlfriend Kareena Kapoor Khan’s next big release with Salman Khan, Bajrangi Bhaijaan will hit the theatres on Eid. And Salman has already started promoting the film on reality shows. We’re sure Kareena will join her hero soon in creating the buzz around their movie. And if that is the case we’re sure Salman and Kareena will also make an appearance on Jhalak, which has Shahid as the host. Now this is one episode that fans of the two actors wouldn’t wanna miss. Considering that both Bebo and Shahid have said that they have no issues working together, the two wouldn’t mind sharing screen space on the show either.

Imagine despite having a star like Salman on the show the real focus will be on Shahid and Kareena who have avoided each other at events and dos. And Colors would be grateful to Salman Khan for this feat. We’re sure that Salman will take the heat off the situation with his friendly banter. Also Sasha can relax, since Kareena would be bonding with her buddy Karan Johar. And thi episode will create a win-win situation for all, the channel will have eye balls and so will Bajrangi Bhaijaan.

But the important question is will Kareena and Shahid agree for a kickass episode of Jhalak with them sharing the judges podium? Ishani will reach right in time to stop Ranveer and Ritika’s wedding. How the hell is that possible when she is seriously injured? I wonder what the makers are thinking!

In the last episode, we saw Ranveer(Shakti Arora) spotting blood on Ritika’s lehenga. When he asked her about the same, the latter told him that it was ketchup that she spilled she was being careless with her food. Meanwhile, Shikhar(Arjun Bijlani) drove furiously in search of Ishani(Radhika Madan), who had been stabbed by Ritika and was lying in a pool of blood. Shikhar managed to find Ishani and she told him that Ritika had hurt her. He rushed her to the hospital where she was taken to the emergency room. Shikhar was relieved when the doctor informed him that she was out of danger. The episode ended with Ishani asking Shikhar to take her to Ranveer’s wedding.

In the upcoming episode, we will see Ishani reaching in time to stop Ranveer and Ritika’s wedding. She will barge in and state that Ranveer cannot marry Ritika as any cost, as the latter’s truth has been exposed. Reports suggest that the Ranveer and Ishani will be seen getting married as well!

Well, that’s great. Quick question though; how the FU*K can Ishani end up at Ranveer’s wedding after nearly being stabbed to death by Ritika? We all saw the episode when Ritika brutally shoved a knife into Ishani and walked off, as the latter lay in a pool of blood. Though Ishani received all the necessary medical attention at the hospital, isn’t there something called as “recovering” from an injury? The last time I checked, a person who has been stabbed cannot be up and about in matter of hours and make way to a long lost lover’s wedding. Makers of MATH- have you left your brains at the park?

I’m appalled at the sheer stupidity shown in the series here. WTF is wrong with the makers? The Indian audience isn’t stupid. People might follow your serial but I’m sure many must be going LOL after this track. I never knew Ishani was part Rajinikanth.

Kabir and Ananya have been trying hard to confess their feelings for each other but its clearly not happening! They are facing misunderstandings at all levels right from Ananya judging Kabir as a womaniser to Kabir presuming Ananya and Ronnie are in love. We are constantly at the edge of our seat, hoping to see them come close. Looks like finally the day is here! Yes!

Nalini Verma, a love story novelist who has entered KKN, is making it easier for them. Ever since she has stepped in, she has been sharing philosophical thoughts about love and life. In yesterday’s episode, Kabir interviews her and unexpectedly stumps her by getting her bad old past. He mentions about her break up with ex-boyfriend Shekhar and stresses on knowing more about her past. Everyone’s shocked including Nalini who breaks down upon hearing this. She has no option but to talk it out and confesses that yes she had a past and it remains as a past. The whole scene gets dramatic where Kabir also looks at Ananya and throws some punches saying love is love, there is no logic required in it. And right there after, he makes a statement saying I have something to say!

What will he say now? Will he propose to Ananya on the national television? Or restrict it to the interview and air Nalini’s ek Shekhar’s statement? He might as well play a cupid between the two, no? She’s already started to prepare for her new journey and is learning everything about the Bengali culture; their language, their style of dressing, their literature. We also told you that Amit Dolawat will be entering the show as an important character, Himanshu Dubey, who will be the funding head of a terrorist group. While it is Himanshu whom, Sandhya has to woo and get information from, he is not the main villain here… it is Ravi Kale.

The actor who’s popular for his stint in Sarkar Raj has been roped in to play the negative lead. As informed by a source to a popular entertainment portal, Ravi’s role is a strong and intense one. He’ll b playing the head of the terrorist group, Sandhya and her team are after.

Ishani has decided to give it back to Ritika. But how will her fake act of memory loss help here? Read on to find out!

In the last episode, we saw Shikhar(Arjun Bijlani) finding Ishani(Radhika Madan) and taking her to the hospital. She asked him to take her to Ranveer’s wedding. Right when Ritika and Ranveer9Shakti Arora) were about to tie the knot, Ishani barged in and stated that this wedding can’t take place. She told Ranveer that he can’t marry Ritika as legally she herself is still his wife. Amba was furious with Ishani’s behaviour and asked her to leave but Ishani was adamant on stopping the wedding. Ritika was shocked, seeing that Ishani was alive, after the former had tried to kill her. Amba asked Ranveer on what he wanted to do with the whole situation. The episode ended with Ranveer taking Ishani by the hand and walking inside a room…

In the upcoming episode, we will see Ritika losing her mind over Ishani’s stint. She will fear that the latter would reveal her bitter secret to the entire family. Ishani on the other hand will fake her memory loss! She will act as if she is still in a union with Ranveer, in order to play with Ritika’s mind. Later, Ranveer would take Ishani aside and try to figure out whether Ishani has truly lost her memory or is it an act. The episode will end with Ritika getting insanely jealous with Ranveer and Ishani’s closeness.

Krishna is out to put all the Birlas down for putting him behind bars for a crime he never committed. But in his revenge obsession, is he gambling a little too much?

So far on Suhani Si Ek Ladki, we saw how Dadi (Shashi Sharma) tries to buy Krishna (Ankur Verma) out with money despite Suhani’s (Rajshri Rani Pandey) efforts to stop her. Instead of taking the money, Krishna informs Dadi that she’s made it even more apparent that Yuvraj (Sahil Mehta) is at fault by bribing him (Krishna). In her over smartness, Dadi ends up further messing things. Suhani, however, is sure that something is amiss here but she’s not able to spot what it is. Her doubts are further fuelled when Rakhi and her mother cook a lavish meal saying that they are going to feed it to the poor and then she finds a certificate which says he was a swimming champion. She’s now sure that this all is a big game because it’s not possible for Radhe to drown if he knew how to swim.

Saumya (Neha Yadav) too was finding Krishna’s behaviour very strange and was sure that her husband and in-laws were up to no good when she found the Radhe’s swimming certificate. We had earlier informed you how Radhe’s truth will come out. Accordingly, in the upcoming episode we will see Saumya following Krishna while he’s taking food for Radhe and is shocked to find Radhe there. She then informs Suhani about the same, but before Suhani and Sharad can reach the spot, Krishna and Radhe will escape.

While Krishna’s plan is on track with Yuvraj behind bars, we wonder if he’s playing a big gamble here. He’s forgetting how much his actions will hurt his wife when she finds the truth. Saumya is a changed person now, a better person who’s supported Krishna and his family through all ups and downs. Is this how Krishna wants to repay her love? The two have been through a really bad phase of separation and reunited after a hell lot of troubles. But now that they are together should Krishna be risking all of it just for the sake of revenge?

Shahid Kapoor is getting married on July 7 in a private ceremony in Delhi. BollywoodLife told you that speculations are rife about Shahid’s to-be wife, Mira Rajput debuting on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8. Considering Shahid is hosting for the first time and the show beginning just after his wedding July 11, it would be the perfect platform to introduce Mrs Kapoor to his fans. While an official statement on this is yet to come. The show’s host, Manish Paul EXCLUSIVELY revealed to us about Mira’s visit on the show. Yes that’s right!

On being quizzed about the show’s new judge’s wife, Manish said, “We are going to drag her (Mira) to the show. She has to come and we’ll try our best to get her! In fact, if she doesn’t come we’ll go to Shahid’s house and get her.”

Whoa! In that case, looks like Mira has no choice but to come on Jhalak. Oh-my-God! This news has only upped our interest even more. Imagine Shahid and Mira in one frame. Or then the newly weds performing to a romantic number on stage. Can’t wait right? We’re sure that will be a real casting coup for the channel as well.

They show the lead ladies as the biggest bechaaris on earth and they portray all modern women as vamps, but what they did in the recent episode is one of the most regressive things

The current track of Saath Nibhaana Saathiya is becoming stranger with every passing day. So Meera is a spoilt brat but is Kokila doing the right thing by being extra rude to her. First she throws her out and makes her stand in the rain. Of course the whole family comes to Meera’s rescue when a few goons eve-tease her, but still it happened because Kokila made her stand out there in the first place. Then she makes Meera clean the mud stains when the latter walks in with dirty feet. Again, Kokila’s fault; she made her stand outside. Besides, I’m not against cleaning, but to forcefully put someone down in front of the whole family is something I cannot digest AT ALL.

As if all this was not enough, she’s now gone ahead putting all the household responsibility on Meera and Vidya because she thinks that’s the right way of making them learn so that they do not depend on others for their work, not even servants. A quick question though… why are Meera and Vidya the only ones who are being taught to be ‘independent’? Why aren’t Samar and Sahir taught to do the household work? Why is it okay for boys to be dependent when it comes to household chores? Is it because we cannot grow out of the ‘household work is a woman’s job’ mentality and we assume our daughter-in-laws will do everything for our sons. While Meera is being taught a lesson by making her wipe the floor, no one bothers about Samar and Sahir mocking her. For a family who can go to the extent of making their daughter stand out in the rain to punish her, it is surprising that they did nothing to stop their sons.

A woman can go work, be a great professional, have an excellent career, but when it comes to judging her capability, we can never see beyond how well she can manage the house.

We say that men aren’t good at doing household chores while women are naturals at it. But we fail to see that it’s NOT TRUE. We make our daughters learn to cook and clean the moment they hit puberty; in some cases even earlier. But we never make that effort with our sons. Obviously they are not good at household because we NEVER make them learn.

There’s a reason why we are in the 21st century and still struggling for gender equality. It’s because we never let go of this regressive mentality and shows like this are not helping. Wouldn’t you agree?

Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa is all set to come up with the eighth season. The dance reality show has a special surprise for all of you this season and that surprise is Shahid Kapoor. He will be one of the celebrity judges this season and increase the star-quotient on the judges panel. All the stars who are being a part of the show came together today for a press conference and let me tell you they were all looking smashing.

From Lauren Gottlieb to Manish Paul everyone was decked up in their best attire. Rapper Raftar even went ahead and rapped a famous song of his exclusively for BollywoodLife. Many stars opened up about their fears of dance and some of them seemed very confident as they were dancers before. However, the judges for the show were not seen at the venue, it turned out to be a gala evening for all who attended.

The Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8 judge who has been a part of Remo D’Souza’s hit dance films has opened up about a horrible episode of rape that involved one of the ABCD 2 team member…

Lauren Gottlieb is the first one to comment from ABCD 2 team on Nilesh Nirbhavane’s rape case. Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor’s film has received a raving response from the aam janta, owing to its solid dance performances and patriotic sentiment. The Remo DSouza directional also saw Lauren Gottlieb as one of the lead characters. The actress has already worked her magic on the big screen with her moves and is set to be seen as a judge in the upcoming season of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8 alongside Bollywood’s heartthrob Shahid Kapoor and others like Karan Johar and Ganesh Hegde. Though Lauren is riding high on the success of ABCD 2, she is equally saddened by a horrifying case which was brought to light by the media recently. ABCD 2‘s Nilesh Nirbhavane was accused of gang raping a mentally challenged girl. Nilesh has admitted to the crime and has been taken under custody.

Reports suggested that the rape accused was one of the back up dancers in ABCD 2. Lauren however in an exclusive interview with BollywoodLife, stated that he wasn’t a back up dancer, but a junior artist. ” He’s not a back up dancer. He was a junior artist. He was in one scene. If you’ve seen the film, you will notice him as one of the people who were auditioning.”

Talking further about the rape case filed against Nilesh, Lauren told BollywoodLife, ” It’s really unfortunate. ABCD 2 is such a positive and patriotic film. It’s not like we can do background checks for people when they’re there for just one scene. Such negativity on such a positive film is unfortunate. That being said, it’s a despicable and terrible thing that he did. I hope he gets the right punishment for it.”

Today’s episode of Diya Aur Baati Hum was quite dramatic. From Zakir’s confession about Emily (Pooja Jain) to Sandhya’s Bengali look, there was not a single second that bored me… Zakir finally coming out in the open was a good thing and for once, everybody gave a reaction. Of course the entire Rathi family was shell shocked to know that Zakir wanted to marry Emily and so he was asked to leave immediately. While all this emotional atyachaar was on at the Rathi house, Sandhya (Deepika Singh) and Bharat (Jiten Lalwani) were also at their dramatic best pretending to be a happy father-daughter duo. We saw Sandhya’s new and improved look as a prospective Bengali bride, Sagarika Das, for Himnashu (Amit Dolawat). Though she tries really hard to impress Himanshu, the latter is an extremely cynical person and leaves saying that he needs more time to decide.

While the track was interesting, what impressed me more was Deepika’s Bengali avatar. I don’t know if it was because she pulled it off so well, or because I was tired of seeing her in that same look for ever, but I really like her better this way. Her saree, and hair style and particularly the long lashed eyes. Doesn’t she look beautiful?

Aryaman is only coming close to the Fab 5 to take revenge from Manik, whom he holds responsible for his sister Sara’s death

In the last episode of Kaisi Yeh Yaariyan, we saw how Nandini (Niti Taylor) is lost in thought trying to figure out a away to deal with Aryaman, now that she knows that the latter is only trying to be a part of Fab 5 to avenge his sister, Sara’s death as he blames Manik (Parth Samthaan) for it. Nandini finally comes up with a plan to temporarily keep Aryaman at bay. She goes close to the room Aryaman is practising in and pretends to talk over the phone with Manik. To grab Aryaman’s attention, she goes ahead saying that Manik was in college and that she’s coming to the recording room to meet him. This drags Aryaman to the recording room only to be shut inside the soundproof room. Nandini confronts him about his evil intentions and then leaves him there. Since it’s a sound proof room, he can’t even call out for help.

Manik, meanwhile, is getting more critical by the hour. But instead of worrying about him, his mother, Neonika, is worried about the news being leaked out; someone informed the media about Manik’s condition. Now the woman is out blaming every friend of Manik. Whille she’s out tackling with the media, Nandini slips into the room dressed as a ward-boy like she’s been doing all along. But this time she was stupid enough to take her moustache and cap off. So now she’s caught red-handed by Neonika who orders the guards to throw her out immediately.

While Nandini is being dragged by the guards, Manik who has been unconscious ever since he was brought to the hospital, calls her name out. This leaves her and Neonika in shock. But will Neonika understand how important Nandini is for Manik’s recovery or will she continue to ignore his son’s well-being and throw Nandini out? Time will tell. So stay tuned!

Not only is Raftaar a killer rapper but is also a humble celebrity. I had the opportunity of interviewing him yesterday and might I add that I had an awesome time with this hunk! Raftaar whose real name is Dilin Nair, will be seen as a contestant in the upcoming season of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. This season is grand as not only will it see some of the most popular names on television but will have Bollywood’s heartthrob Shahid Kapoor as a judge! I represented BollywoodLife in a media session with the contestants of JDJ 8 and happened to catch Raftaar offfguard. A colleague of mine suggested that I ask him to rap for us and his fans, and record the same on my phone. I approached Raftaar and was surprised to see him greeting me warmly. When I asked him if he could rap for all his fans, the musician readily agreed and got ready for his performance.

I was super excited when Raftaar offered to conduct a selfie rap exclusively for BollywoodLife. He took my phone, turned the dual video on and started rapping! Raftaar was on a roll and I was truly amazed by his rapping skills. Upen Patel and Karishma Tanna recently revealed that the news of them acting in a Chinese movie was a fake one. Upen in a statement, clears the air…

Karishma Tanna and Upen Patel are one of the most popular contestants on Nach Baliye 7. The couple not only manages to floor the judges with their performances but the two are a hit with the viewers as well. Karishma and Upen or UpMa, as they are fondly referred to, had taken to Twitter earlier to inform their fans that they have been roped in for a film by a Chinese director. The love birds however later revealed that the news was fake and they told their fans this to work for a social cause. They had used a particular mobile app to break this story, in order to champion the cause of women empowerment. Upen in a statement revealed, “The developers of this app approached us with the idea. For every download of the app, and click on the story’s link, the company would donate money to a charitable cause of our choice. I opted for a lesser-known NGO, Paras that works for women empowerment.”

BollywoodLife was of the opinion that Karishma and Upen indirectly pulled off the stint for publicity, and not particularly for a social cause. We didn’t question the cause which the two actors were championing, but did raise one regarding the means that they used to do the same. Why tweet about acting in a Chinese movie when the UpMa could have simply asked fans to support the cause and download the app in a straight forward manner? Upen however had a clear answer to this. When asked on whether he was afraid of the plan backfiring, Upen said,”Not at all. The moment you click on the news link, it says the news is false and an amount will be donated to the NGO. On Twitter, both of us got a good response from our fans. Being a celebrity, if you are able to raise funds for charity, then why not?”

Reports suggest that the app was downloaded by over a lakh people and a considerable amount of money was donated to the charitable organization.

Misleading reports in papers and websites are getting us confused!

When it was reported that we will be getting a remake of the hit US sitcom, Everybody loves Raymond, we were truly excited. After all, we are those disappointed Indians who are tired of these daily saas-bahu sagas and fake reality shows!

Also there is a dearth of genuinely good comedy shows in India. When we think about great comic shows, only few names come in mind, be it Dekh Bhai Dekh, Zabaan Sambhal Ke, Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, Khichdi, Tarak Mehta ka Ooltaa Chashma etc. So the Indian Raymond could actually give the ‘humour’-philes among us, something to cheer. We also got to know that the show will now be called Sumit Sambhal Lega.

Then came the next big question – who exactly will play Sumit aka the desi Raymond? He has to be like one of us, an average middle-class working man, who should be loved and taken advantage of, by all and sundry. There have been several names thrown in the mix, even Ronit Roy’s, to everyone’s surprise.

However, since morning, we have been getting misleading reports about three actors being cast as Indian Raymond! The website of a leading daily mentions that the Rang De Basanti actor, Sharman Joshi is cast as Sumit. Good choice, as Sharman is known for his comic talent, though he is kind of finicky.

Then the entertainment section of the same daily reports that theatre artiste and VJ, Namit Das, of Wake Up Sid fame is cast as the protagonist! The confusion doesn’t end there – the subsidiary of the same newspaper carries out a report that Shreyas Talpade, the man who impressed us in Iqbal and Golmaal series, will be making his debut in the series as the main lead!

With three names going around, we are asking the developers of the show – which Raymond are we exactly supposed to love?

The show delivers what it promised!

16 six-packed guys…14 hot girls…one island…lots of hormones and emotions on display…and a host in the form of a sultry Sunny Leone! Did you expect something on the lines of The Apprentice? If not, great! 

If you love to ogle at hot bodies, are crazy about cat-fights and brawling men who like to abuse now and then, and of course, Sunny Leone, then you have to watch this! If you don’t mind seeing people getting objectified and abused, then this show is definitely for you!

The show

16 girls come to a resort in Goa, where they go straight into the swimming pool (The makers seriously don’t want to waste your time!). Soon, they are joined by Rannvijay Singh, who seems on a permanent contract with MTV after winning their Roadies contest ages ago. He is greeted by a lots of cheers and sighs from the girls, making me wonder if any girl would die of heart attack if Varun Dhawan accidentally lands on the set. He introduces 7  bare-bodied male contestants, amidst more sighs from girls (…and more eye- rolling from the jealous males watching the show! No..No..I swear, not me!). The boys get into the pool, interact with the girls and immediately forms an opinion about everyone. It’s then Rannvijay drops the bomb – the guys can choose a girl whom they don’t want in the show, and they have 24 hours to decide that. Who will choose whom? Who will fight whom? Will the girls really get evicted? And what will Sunny Leone do, when she makes an entry? All that is answered in the closing moments…

The good

For all the fans of the show, Splitsvilla will not disappoint you, as it tries to cram all sorts of promiscuity, fights, bitching and twists in the premiere episode itself. From the traditional inter-cuts of the contestants confessing in front of the camera where they bitch about everything but themselves, to the frolicking around in pool to contestants dropping their clothes at the drop of an eye-lid, you have it all here. For the fans of Anurag Kashyap, there are maa-behen gaalis, as well as a full-blown brawl! There are some amusing moments as well, like the ‘lil moment where a girl ‘confesses’ about her bisexual status, when no one really asked about it! Or another girl telling she doesn’t want to flirt with guys, ‘cos her parents won’t like it! Sunny Leone is pretty hot and likeable, till she opens her mouth to speak Hindi! Rannvijay, as usual, is cool…

The bad

The show is definitely not for connoisseurs of meaningful fare. It didn’t promise us the moon, just some spicy masala which it serves on a decorated platter. If I have to nitpick, I would say that the big TWIST of the episode is kind of becoming predictable; we can easily guess the girls are not getting eliminated. Also the show ends with the entries of the 8 celebrity contestants, making it like a surprise, though many of us knew of their existence even before the show aired. All thanks to the MTV’s press release. MTV, you had spoilt your own surprise!

The verdict

The show had all the elements to make it an exciting watch for all the followers of the show. With the last-minute entry of the ‘surprise’ contestants, we are sure there will be more fireworks in the episode to come.

What to do

Fans of the show, you can rejoice! Those who are not, the third episode of True Detective is airing tomorrow, rejoice! And Sunny Leone, please…no Hindi!

The kids really enjoyed Salman’s company as he made them laugh with his funny stories

Salman Khan is known for his popularity amongst kids. While it is no doubt that kids simply adore him, Salman also has a special place in his hearts for kids. 

Even in his upcoming movie, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Salman would be seen playing a messiah of mute little Pakistani girl. So when Salman was invited to Indian Idols Junior 2, he made it sure that he had a gala time with kids. Other than amusing the participant kids with his stories and anecdotes, Salman made a heart touching gesture when he gifted the Bajrangi Bhaijaan lockets to children  which he had worn throughout the film.

Other than interacting with the kids, Salman  and Sonakshi made sure that the viewers thoroughly enjoyed their banter throughout the show. Salman was accompanied by his friend and singer Adnan Sami, who performed Bhar Do Jholi live in front of audience.

The two stars are known to share awesome chemistry and it was all evident in today’s episode of Indian Idol Junior

Superstar Salman Khan graced the stage of Indian Idol Junior 2 with his esteemed presence as he set the stage on fire with his awesome charisma. We all know how much Salman loves to spend time with kids. And undoubtedly the star enjoyed himself in the presence of the little ones.

But the stage of Indian Idol Junior 2 presented the opportunity for viewers to witness the reunion of Salman and Sonakshi, the famous Dabangg jodi of Bollywood. And when they came together on small screen, they made sure that everyone had a rollicking time. They re-enacted their famous scene from Dabangg, which includes Sonakshi’s best dialogue, ” Thappad se darr nahi lagta sahab, Pyaar se lagta hai”. Only this time around it was Sonakshi spouting Salman’s lines and vice versa.

This cute little banter between the Dabangg duo made for hilarious moment in the show.
