Yes it was day two on Colors show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Reloaded. Here’s what unfolded…

Shahid Kapoor was on his judge’s seat adorable as ever! However the day two of Jhalak Reloaded was pretty off! Well, it is solely coz of the thandaa and some very bad performances we witnessed on the show today. Yes, the stary contestants failed to sizzle barring couple of them like singer Raftaar and foreign import Scarlett Wilson. The Khatron Ke Khiladi winner Ashish Chowdhry put forth a decent act as compared to television’s super hit heroines Sanaya Irani and Dipika Kakar.

Starting with the best performances of the night, the mentor judges Ganesh Hegde and Lauren Gottlieb took to the stage and proved why they are deserving of judging the starry dance reality show. Like Lauren, we too felt that Scarlett had striking similarities to the ex Jhalak contestant-turned-judge. Scarlett’s impeccable cartwheels and sexy moves were enough to make her co-contestants nervous. No wonder Sanaya Irani and Dipika Kakar both had some awkward moments on the stage after watching Scarlett rock the dance floor.

Sanaya’s cute personality and honest performance managed to impress the judges despite many glitches in the act. The actress had no qualms admitting that she had flawed and we guess that her recognising her own mistakes will take her a long way in this cut-throat competitive dance reality show.

Simar aka Dipika however failed miserably in her first act on the Jhalak stage. What was worse was that the actress instead of owning up her flop performance broke into tears. While judges could have been harsh about this, Shahid Kapoor‘s magnanimous gesture only went on to show that he is indeed the most lovable judge of reality show.

As for Raftaar, he was impressive and managed to win us over with his dance moves as much as his ability to croon. Overall, Manish Paul’s funny one liners, Shahid’s easy going ways and Karan’s witty comebacks added the much needed spunk to this show.

Yes, we understand that Jhalak isn’t just about dance, but also about star power. So we will not be surprised if worse performer like Dipika manages to say safe while a fabulous act of Subhreet, Scarlett or then Raftaar still takes them to the forbidden danger zone. There’s an abundance of good looking actors in telly town but very few managed to make it to our list of top five hot men – and in this race also there can be only one winner

Like we did it for Bollywood, during the BL Film Awards we are conducting an award ceremony for telly town actors for their hard work and effort to entertain us. So we had about 11 categories in BollywoodLife TV Awards where fans were to pick their favourite stars in each category. We’ve got an overwhelming response and today we’ll reveal the results of the hottest actor category.

Even when we were short listing actors for this category we had a fair idea on who would win and things have panned out exactly as we predicted. Parth Samthaan of Kaisi Yeh Yaariyan won this poll with 38 per cent votes in his favour. Gautam Gulati actually surprised us at the second position. He had a close competition with Parth; the actor got about 36 per cent votes.

In the third position we got the dishy Dude from Mahakumbh – Gautam Rode with 13 per cent votes. Next in line is Mohit Raina with 7 per cent votes and Harshad Chopda came in last with only 6 per cent votes.

BollywoodLife congratulates the Parth Samthaan on being chosen as the hottest telly actor of 2015 by the aam janta. It’s a position many covet but only manages to achieve every year.

In a recent interview, KJo reacted to the rumour about him hosting Comedy Nights with Kapil, his association with Baahubali, his chemistry with Shahid Kapoor and more…

As a producer and director, Karan Johar has more often than not, backed winning projects. When he decided to present The Lunchbox, he once again proved that he has the right instincts. Last Friday, he lent his name to the Hindi version of SS Rajamouli’s historical epic Baahubali. It turned out to be a great move. The movie got rave reviews from the critics as well as audiences. Who’d have thought a dubbed film with no leading Hindi stars would get this kind of appreciation and box office figures? Well, KJo did for sure. Over to the Dharma man…

How did you come to collaborate on Baahubali?

It was Rana (Daggubati) who called me. I loved the parts that I saw back then. I feel honoured that they chose to associate with us.

Why associate with a movie at the later stage when the movie has not been greenlit by you?

I am a huge Rajamouli fan. I have seen most of his earlier movies like Eega. I was excited to bring Baahubali to the rest of the territories. I believe that every audience must get to view and experience this masterpiece. We’ve never had a movie made with this kind of technology, visuals and scale. We have had movie like Mughal-E-Azam made on that kind of scale, but those are hardly made these days. Rajamouli is a great filmmaker and we at Dharma are proud to be associated with a movie like Baahubali.

You presented The Lunchbox, which was a Hindi movie and a small budget one compared to this. Comment.

I know that language can be a barrier, but I also believe that a great film must be seen by everyone. Whether it’s Lunchbox or Baahubali, it’s about movies with great content. And that’s my goal; to present good content to the audience. People often say that Lunchbox was a movie that belonged to the parallel cinema category, but to me it was a great love story. Similarly, Baahubali is a great cinematic experience. Why should we restrict ourselves? We should see a movie for what it has to offer. People who like good cinema are going to like a movie irrespective of its language. And the kind of reaction and appreciation Baahubali has received is a great sign.

Baahubali will have a sequel?

Yes, people have been asking me to what happens next. It’s almost like a season break of a show where everyone is waiting to know what happens next. Those who have seen the movie can’t wait to see the rest of it. That’s the genius of Rajamouli.

Will you be associated with that as well?

I sincerely hope so.

On the telly front, buzz is that you will be taking over Comedy Nights. True?

No. I don’t know where this rumour started from. It’s absolutely untrue. I can’t replace Kapil Sharma. I am not that stupid.

And there won’t be another season of Koffee with Karan this year?

After my current TV commitments, I will only be able to look at my work on television next year after I finish shooting Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

Shahid Kapoor and you are judging Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa together, but you haven’t really worked with him despite being in the industry for these many years….

We have Shaandaar together, which Dharma is co-producing. Shahid is a superb actor and gifted dancer. He is someone who is absolutely qualified to be a judge on a dance show. Working with him has been a lot of fun. I think he made the right decision to come on board as judge for Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. People will now get to know him as a person even better. He has a great vibe and energy.

This season of MTV Splitsvilla is full of drama, romance and tragedy. In a matter of literally three episodes, the contestants are falling in love and fighting for one another like there’s no tomorrow. Strong connections are being formed and others Splitsvillans are out to break those. The latest episode was all about confessions, brutal fights and love. The episode started with a bang when contestant Karishma decided to take on Mia, for backstabbing Gaurav and forming a bond with Ravi. Mia soon entered her battle zone mode and stated that she has a strong bond with Gaurav ONLY( Yeah right) Soon Rannvijay interrupted and decided to test these so called “connections” that the Splitsvillans had.

The Boys and Girls were asked to pick a partner, whom they believe to be trustworthy enough in the entire competition. The naming game began and Mia and Gaurav took each other’s name. Rannvijay gave gaurav an option of rescuing Mia from the dumping zone and sacrificing his position instead. All were surprised when he happily obliged and asked Mia to swap. Later, Utkarsh was asked to dump one person from the girls and he chose Veronica, much to her lover boy Shivam’s displeasure.”Uttu” as he’s fondly called, decided to save Gaurav from the dumping zone and Mia was smiling once again. Veronica’s dumping obviously didn’t go down too well with Shivam, who started hurling abuses at Utkarsh in no time.

Things turned ugly when Prince interrupted and informed Veronica that Shivam wasn’t a good guy and had abused her while she was performing in the last task. Shivam denied the same which pissed Prince off big time. As a result, the Roadies winner slapped Shivam and got into a major brawl with him. Uh oh!

The fight continued for a long time and surprisingly neither Rannvijay nor Sunny Leone tried to stop the fight. Soon things calmed down and Rannvijay asked Prince to apologize to Sunny for acting violent in front of her. Lol, that’s ironic Rannvijay, considering that neither you or Sunny didn’t react when the fight was going on. We admit that you wanted some masala for the show, but why the “no violence” pretence?

The episode ended on a disturbing note when all the Splitsvillans made a mockery out of Karishma’s sexual orientation. She came out of the closet and declared that she’s bisexual, which the contestants reacted to saying “what” in a shocking manner. Karishma very smartly retorted saying that it’s her sexual preference so people need not be so shocked after all. Well done babe! Her friend got dumped and Karishma broke down. Sunny then asked her on whether she had feelings for the other girl,or was she  crying because the latter is a friend. Karishma then went up to the dumped girl and kissed her. While we found the gesture incredibly moving, Splitsvillans and hist Rannvijay chose to gigglle. It’s strange how the show works as when Ashiwini Koul and his lady love Sanjana smooched big time in front of the cameras, no eyebrows were raised. So why the double standards?

The accused had put his phone’s camera on video mode and hidden it in the actress’s changing room. Read on to know more!

A TV actresses’ costume assistant got arrested on Saturday for hiding a phone camera in her changing room. The incident took place on July 8, in a bungalow where the actress was shooting for her TV show. She reportedly spotted a phone beneath her make- up table, where it was placed behind a dustbin. The TV actress noticed that the phone was kept on video mode and was placed underneath the table, so that she could get filmed while changing clothes.

She was shocked when she browsed through the phone and discovered shots of her, below the waist. The actress alerted the crew at once and went on to confront the costume assistant.

The latter with the name Abdul Qayyum Ansari, cooked up a story stating that he had put his phone on charging. The actress however pointed out that there was no charging point beneath the table and went through the videos again, only to find a video of the accused placing the camera in her room. Ansari finally confessed and begged for the actress to not report the incident to the police, but in vain. The accused was arrested and later released on a bond of Rs 15,000 along with a 7,000 cash deposit.

The actress was a part of the artists association and reportedly informed the members about the incident.

Sandhya’s death may prompt her husband, Sooraj, to lose his memory!

After taking a five-year leap in April, popular soap opera Diya Aur Baati Hum may witness another forward plunge in its upcoming episodes. Okay, you can cry, ‘not again!

Sandhya is soon going to be bumped off the scene (Don’t worry, like any other Hindi serial, she will make a return soon!)! But it will have some repercussions.

According to a source, the makers are looking forward to take a three-month leap after which Sooraj (Anas Rashid) will be losing his memory when he will learn about Sandhya’s (Deepika Singh) death.

“The show is soon going to undergo a complete change in the track with ‘Mission Mahabali’ coming in. It’s going to be a high point in the show and Sandhya’s loss will change everything in the Rathi family,” the source said.

Diya Aur Baati Hum, which airs on Star Plus, focuses on the life of IPS officer Sandhya Rathi and her husband Sooraj, who becomes her strength and helps her to fulfil her dream.

The actors, who were earlier close to each other are no longer on talking terms

Suhani Si Ek Ladki is currently showcasing a lot of love drama with Suhani (Rajshri Rani Pandey) going all out to save her love, her husband, Yuvraj (Sahil Mehta). While onscreen the couple is coming closer and closer, the real-life chemistry of Rajshri and Sahil seems to have gone for a toss. Earlier, the two were said to share a great bond with each other as well as others on the sets. Things, however, are not the same anymore. A source from the sets informed a popular entertainment portal that the two stopped interacting with each other overnight.

When contacted by the same portal, Sahil rubbished these rumours saying that he and his co-star were still very cordial with each other and that reports of a tiff of any kind were cooked up rumours. Surprisingly, his co-star has a different story to narrate…

She informed that Sahil has changed and not just towards her, but the entire cast. Initially the actor used to talk and fool around with everyone, he now keeps to himself and does not mingle with everyone very often. She further said, ” We were friends but we don’t talk much anymore.”

In the last episode, we saw Ishita(Divyanka Tripathi) and Raman(Karan Patel) going on a coffee shop date, late in the night. There, they spotted Rinky and Mihir together and we were glad to see the two bonding. Later, Raman was seen spilling juice on Ishita’s saree deliberately, so that the latter would go to her room and he could spend time with her. Romi on the other hand made the Bhalla family extremely happy by telling them that Sarika had agreed to marry him. Romi received a shock when Sarika informed him about her mother passing away. The episode ended with Ruhi asking her IshiMa about Shagun(Anita Hassanandani).

In the upcoming episode, we will see a special Eid celebration in the show. The Bhallas will host an Eid party which will be attended by none other than Salman Khan! Karishma Tanna and Upen Patel, who have been dating each other since Bigg Boss 8 got over, are busy preparing for the Nach Baliye Finale. In an exclusive interview with BollywoodLife, this couple talks about their journey till now, the Nach stage and their marriage plans..

From Bigg Boss 8 to Nach Baliye 7, how has your journey been?

Karishma Tanna (K) : The journey has been really good.

Upen Patel (U) : It’s actually hard to compare the two shows because we were both at different stages in Bigg Boss 8. Her journey was more emotional compared to mine; her journey was also longer than mine. After Bigg Boss, we spent more time together and our relationship blossomed. We then got a chance to work again when Nach Baliye 7 came. Karishma was initially hesitant as she had other offers too, but I thought Nach Baliye was a great offer and we took it on. Since then it is an even more wonderful journey and we have become closer. We have been able to dance together and I have become a better dancer too. We earlier did Bollywood dances, but now we both have learnt new styles too.

K : Earlier you used to dance in some award functions or in Bollywood films, but being in a competition and not being with a choreographer, but being with your Baliye (partner) has really been great and we have learnt a lot of new styles.

U : When you do films, you always shoot it in cuts, but when you go on stage, you just have two to three minutes to perform and there are no cuts. I have never performed live on stage before, so it’s a new experience.

K : He has mastered it now. Initially, we used to stand in front and he used to practice the steps with us, however now he does two or three minutes of his own performance, which is actually commendable.

U : So, yes we have improved talent wise. I think we signed up for Nach Baliye, not just to dance with each other, but also to show our talent. The process has got us closer and we have taken our relationship two steps further.

Some sources say that you guys aren’t on good terms with the channel, is it true?

K : No.

U : No, this is not at all true. When you are in a competition, some or the other rumours will be created. But, it’s not true.

So, how has the experience been with your judges?

K : It’s been perfect working with them. Whenever we have done something new, they have always appreciated us.

U : Yeah, they have high expectations from us all the time as we get something new everytime. I don’t always agree with the scoring, but I accept it humbly and we know they are the judges and we have to respect their judgement.

What do you have to say about Chetan Bhagat and Preity Zinta’s clashes during the show?

K : I find it very funny.

U : When we did the robot act and Preity took a stand for us, I think I respect that. I know Preity from a long time and she has been dancing from a long time in Bollywood films, so she understands our act. She sees it from a different perspective and Chetan sees it from a different perspective, so there will be clashes of judgement, but they make a wonderful panel and I respect all of them.

One thing that you both learnt from Nach Baliye?

K : I have learnt to be patient. I have learnt to be really patient, generally I am really impatient as a person. So here, from Bigg Boss 8 to Nach Baliye 7, I have only learnt to be patient, which is generally very good because I am generally very impatient. Sometimes it gets very difficult for me to handle myself also.

U : I am so glad she accepted it. Please send me this recording, so next time she starts getting impatient I can show her this.

K : I am trying, I am still in the process.

U : The one thing I learnt is very interesting. We have these ‘Daily Punchnamas,’ which is the reality bit of the show. So, they had these ‘Love challenges,’ where there was a task where my Mother was asked to answer 20 questions and then Karishma was asked to answer the same 20 questions and these 20 questions were about me. So, during the show, i was asked to answer the 20 questions and I didn’t know what answers my mother gave and what answers Karishma gave, so I answered all of them. At the end of the task I came to know that Karishma got all the 20 questions right, while my mother got all the 20 questions wrong. So that time I was like she knows me better than my mother, that means we have become much more closer. We were 24 hours with each other in Big Boss, without phones or anything, so we had all the time to know each other and I guess we know each other very much in a short span of time.

What is the highlight of the show for you both till now?

K : The engagement was the highlight for me.

U : Yes, 100 percent.Same here.

The audience also voted you as the cutest and the hottest couple on the show, how does that feel?

K : Yes, we have been awarded for both the cutest as well as the hottest couple on the show. We have even received gifts for that and it feel’s great.

U : It feels amazing when your fans our so kind to you and that has made our journey so worthwhile. Every week we do something different, we come up with different dance forms just by thinking about our fans and the audience. We think they have not seen us do a romantic number, they have not seen Karishma do an emotional performance, apart from the judges, it is more about the audience and fans for us.

So, what’s the best quality you like of each other?

U : I love all her qualities. If I had to point out one quality, then I would say I love her independence. She is a career-oriented woman, she is the son of their family, I call her that because she has bought her own house and car herself and looks after her mother.

K : One quality I love about him is that he is extremely loving, he is extremely caring and he motivates everyone around him.

Do you plan to do a movie together after Nach Baliye?

K : If we get an offer, then for sure.

U : We haven’t got an offer till now, but if we get one then it would be great. But, people should realise that we are individuals too. Just because we are in a relationship that doesn’t mean we will work with each other only, we will work with other people too! We have our individual careers.

Reports also indicate that you both are going to move in together after Nach Baliye, is it true?

K : No. I stay with my family.

U : We stay with our families. In India, I don’t think it’s appropriate to live-in without getting married. We just got engaged, so we are planning ahead and once we get married we will obviously stay together. But, for now, no plans to move in together.

So are there any marriage plans in the near future?

U : Once Nach Baliye finishes, we will plan everything and we will get married sometime next year. Right now, we haven’t had the time to think so after the finale, we will think about it.

So what all has been planned for the Nach Baliye finale?

U : We are shooting for that episode for over four days, so there will be many performances that we will do. All are exciting performances and you will enjoy them. We are working hard and we will go for the rehearsals directly from here after this interview. There are going to be guest appearances too, so it’s going to be a big spectacle. The first two episodes of the dance reality show have been splendid and we loved every moment of it

Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Reloaded contestants put their best foot forward for the show and we are happy about their performances ‘coz everyone seem to have worked really hard on it. Shahid Kapoor’s debut really added the much needed spark to the show. While everyone performed really well, we all have our favourites. So vote and tell us who was your favourite performer on Jhalak.

Radhika Madan: The Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi’s Ishani has always been a dancer which was evident from her performance. She definitely impressed the judges and so did us. She got the score of 37, which is quite impressive.

Mohit Malik: The actor who has been playing baddie but Shahid somehow saw the romantic side to Mohit. The judges scored him 32 and told him that he has a lot of scope for improvement especially since he is extremely hardworking.

Faisal Khan: This young lad who won the title of Dance India Dance Li’l Masters really impressed everyone with his performance, but since he has been a dancer expectations are quite high. The judges gave him about 36 out of 40.

Shamita Shetty: The Shetty sisters are both great dancers and have awesome figure. Shamita is the glamour quotient on the show. However, her dancing skills are definitely not something to be taken lightly. She seemed the judges’ favourite for all their connections with her; they scored her 34.

Vivian DSena: True to what he said, Vivian can’t dance, but that in no way means the actor didn’t put his best foot forward. Vivian has never danced before, which was quite evident from his performance, but the actor is a good student, ‘coz he followed all the instructions from his choreographer.

Subhreet Kaur Ghumman: The IGT fame one legged dancer moved everyone with her performance. In fact Shahid was moved to tears, and indeed she left and indelible mark in all our hearts. She was the highest scorer of the first week who made 39 points.

Scarlett Wilson: She has been an item girl in Bollywood movies and her dancing is quite commendable. But since she is an experienced dancer, the judges expect a lot more from her and we don’t blame them. She received just 34 in spite of being a good dancer.

Kavita Kaushik: From being the Dabanng Chautala in FIR, she completely transformed herself with her first act. It was seductive and sensuous, but the errors kind of made her lose a few points. She received a mere 33 for her first act.

Raftaar: This is indeed a surprise package and he stunned everyone with his act. He increased his difficulty and gave a stylish performance. He scored 36; however, we’d give him at least 38 for it.

Sanaya Irani: Fans have been eagerly waiting to see her dance. There’s huge expectation from her especially since she’s been here before and done some awesome performances. Sanaya will have to prove a lot but there’s hope. She managed to score only 32 in the first episode.

Ashish Chowdhry: It was rather cute to see the new daddy perform. However, everyone noticed that he was playing it safe for the first episode. But like the judges we also agree that he has the potential to do better than 32.

Dipika Kakar: Simar of Sasural Simar Ka froze in the first 5 seconds of her performance, which affected her score. While the judges were all praise for her; they scored her 29; which was the lowest in the show. However, her aerial act gave us hope that she can definitely do better. Fingers crossed!

The couple is currently residing in Malad and will be shifting to their new penthouse in Bandra, by the end of this year. Read on to know more!

Sushant Singh Rajput and Ankita Lokhande have been together since years now and people are wondering on when the two will get hitched. The love birds however, want to take it slow and are currently in a live-in relationship. SSR is busy working on his Mahendra Singh Dhoni biopic, and was earlier seen as Detective Byomkesh Bakshy in the film of the same name. Though the actor is caught up with work, he has been taking time out to meet realtors an agents to finalize a place in Bandra. The good news is that the actor has finally come across his dream home and bought it for a whopping Rs 20 crore!

Sushant  had once stated that his dream is to own a penthouse and the same is finally coming true. “When I first moved to Mumbai from Delhi, I was living with six room-mates in a one room- kitchen apartment. I always dreamt of owning a penthouse in the city and have worked really hard to achieve this dream. On November 11, 2013, I moved into my Malad home. Now,I am excited about the next change,” revealed SSR to an entertainment tabloid.

The Byomkesh Bakshy! actor is currently residing with Ankita in Malad and the couple is planning to shift into their penthouse in Bandra by the end of this year. The tabloid reports that the couple’s den will be having an indoor theatre, surround sound and a mini library, since SSR is fond of music and reading. “So, the home will be equipped with an indoor theatre and surround sound. He(SSR) is also an aid reader and will have a full wall for his books, right up the ceiling. He already has cabinets for them in the Malad house. now he can have a mini library,” revealed the source.

He put down his papers sometime in May is currently serving his notice period

The popular show on Colors, Balika Vadhu is going to witness another major exit. Shashank Vyas who has been playing Jagya for the past five years, quit the show. From what we hear, it seems the actor wanted a break from it and the monotony of playing one character for that long was getting to him.

From what we hear, the makers apparently tried to retain him, but he was determined to leave. We wonder if it was another enticing offer that made him take the decision. A source close to the actor said, “He is serving a three month notice which started sometime in May. He has been doing the show for five years and now he wants a break.”

The source further added, “Shashank wants to take two months off to recuperate and then he will be back looking to do something interesting.” Well that clears our doubts. The makers are now busy looking for a new face to play the role of Jagya and from what we hear Shakti Anand has been roped for the role. So they may just let Jagya go early.

Shashank Vyas has been one of the actors who’ve been a part of it since the start. Ever since Balika Vadhu took the big leap showcasing the adult life of Jagya and Anandi, Shashank Vyas has been a part of it.

It would be sad to let the actor go but change is inevitable. We just hope Shakti Anandi is able to pull off the character of Jagya well. All the best Shashank and we hope to see you soon.

Actor Arshad Warsi has confirmed that he is hosting an episode of Comedy Nights With Kapil as the show’s original host comedian-actor Kapil Sharma is on road to recovery from an injury.

The Dedh Ishqiya actor took to micro-blogging website Twitter to share the news, as well as the fact that actors Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran and Tabu came to the show to promote their forthcoming film Drishyam on the platform.

Kapil, who is making his Bollywood debut with Abbas-Mustan’s Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon, is recovering from a slip disc and he has been advised three weeks’ rest. In his absence, every episode of the show will have a different host.

In the last episode, we saw Paridhi(Loveleen Kaur Sasan) getting annoyed with Rashi when the latter stated that she didn’t wish to go to school. Meanwhile, Urmila succeeded in defaming Kinjal and calling her a murderer in front of the society members. Kokila(Rupal Patel) on the other hand was seen lashing out at Meera(Tanya Sharma), on learning about her misdeeds in the house. The episode ended with Kokila suffering a fall, and suspecting Meera of setting the trap.

In the upcoming episode, Ahem and Kokila will decide to investigate on who the culprit behind all the menace is. The two will decide to call the police but will do the same after finishing the dheej pooja.

BollywoodLife informed its viewers that the real culprit was none other than Rashi. The lil’ girl is out to get Gopi in order to seek her revenge for her mother Radha’s death. While Gopi will learn about the same, the rest of the Modis will be unaware.

Comedy Nights With Kapil has been under a cloud of mystery as to who will keep the laughter game on since Kapil Sharma has taken a break from it due to his ill-health. The makers were trying to think of ways to keep it running and their search stopped at Arshad Warsi. He hosted the recent episode of Comedy Nights with the Drishyam team including Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran and Tabu. Here are some of the fun pictures from the sets.

Arshad looks pretty amused at the company. We hear he shared a lot of Golmaal moments on the show with Ajay Devgn for company while Tabu smiles away.

A new drama from across the border to be aired on Zindagi channel

Meri Talaash is a tale of all the mysterious things that happen in the haveli (mansion). An elderly lady Amma Bi lives with her three sons, Faheem, Azeem and Saad in the suburban area of Radha Krishan Basti. Amma Bi is very old fashioned and extremely stubborn when it comes to food. Hailing from a well cultured dynasty of Delhi, she is very serious about her culture and everything related to food – she insists on the taste and the ingredients of everything made in the house to be the same as she once made it.

Everyone is afraid of her wrath and is affected by her fluctuating temperament. As the story unfolds, her real identity will be revealed and slowly her equation with the family members will go through a change.

The show is all set to go on air on July 17, 2015 at 10 pm. The show is written by Amna Mufti, who had also done the acclaimed show – Aaj Rang Hai on Zindagi. Meri Talaash Hai stars Samina Ahmed, Sami Khan, Nadia Afghan, Noor-Ul-Hasan and Yumna Zaidi in pivotal roles. So don’t forget to tune in to Zindagi to watch this exciting show.

It was no news that the cutest on-screen couple in Telly land, Deepika Singh and Anas Rashid aka Sooraj and Sandhya from Diya Aur Baati Hum, were not on talking terms for the longest period. So much so that the two never looked eye to eye off screen. In fact a few months ago we even heard that the two had a major tiff after Deepika complained that Anas touched him inappropriately. There were also rumours that Deepika slapped her co-star for the same. But after all these years of unfriendly rumours, looks like the two have decided to bury their past hatchets. For the first time in four year, the co-stars were seen spending some fun time together.

Deepika recently shared this one dubsmash video of hers with Anas on her Instagram account. Anans is seen dubbing one of Shah Rukh Khan’s dialogues from Devdas, probably because Deepika is in her Bengali avatar as Sagarika Das. Anas’ earnest recital of the dialogue and Deepika’s funny expressions to it are simply make a hilarious combination. Check out it out here…

It’s probably the first Indian medical drama that will not be based on love or saas bahu drama

We’ve had so many medical shows like Dill Mill Gayye, Sanjeevani and Zindagi Wins, but none have been purely on medicine or the life of doctors. It somehow trickles down to being just a complicated love story, but the new Life OK show seems very different and appealing.

Story

Ek Nayi Ummeed – Roshni is about a medical student who aspires to be a cardiothoracic surgeon. In the family of doctors, she is the first surgeon. Inspired by her grandfather Dr Amar Kishore Singh (Amol Palekar), she has always put her patients above protocol. The story revolves around how she becomes a part of her brother’s hospital and tries make sure that patients are given more importance than their financial status.

The Good

The show has been shot like any Hollywood film. The doctors and the equipments used are original which gives us a feel of reality. Pooja Gor as Roshni is a brilliant choice, ‘coz she is already in the skin of the character diminishing her previous role as the adarsh bahu (dutiful daughter-in-law). Amol Palekar immediately makes you fall in awe of him for his realistic acting. He doesn’t come with any airs of being a veteran Bollywood actor and that just makes his role so credible. Sahil Anand has been established as the perpetual flirt and from what we’ve seen he is perfect as the boy next door. Guess we can judge him better as the show progresses. Inderjeet Sagoo looks comfortable as the head of management, but it’s his equation with Roshni aka his sister that won us over. The character of Badri was tailor made for Raghubir Yadav, like it was written for him. The scenes in the operation theatre, hospital seemed quite authentic. Of course we are no experts to get into too many details but from our knowledge of Grey’s Anatomy, House and ER – we can definitely figure that the show has been spot on so far.

The Bad

The scene where Roshni botches up the surgery with her idol, Dr. Raghunandan (Rahul Vora) doesn’t seem like something a responsible surgeon would do, but then again accidents do happen. The first few episodes have been shot in London, but the foreigners shown in the show have the fakest accent. The makers have sworn to not show blood at all, frankly in a medical drama revolved around a hospital and surgeons it’s ridiculous not to show any blood. Of course they have restrictions but blurring that part during surgeries doesn’t help the cause. Frankly, there’s seriously very few things in the show that we can criticise about.

Verdict

Ek Nayi Ummeed – Roshni is different and thought provoking. In the history of medical dramas we finally have a credible one.

Rumours were abuzz that Shahid will be leaving the show after 8 episodes. But latest reports suggest that it’s Kjo who will be doing the same. But why? Find out!

There have been reports about Shahid Kapoor being a part of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Reloaded only for eight episodes, but that’s not true. On the contrary, it’s Karan Johar who will be on the show only for eight episodes! “Shahid will be there for the entire season, but Karan who will be starting the shoot of his film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil will be there only for eight episodes,” reveals an insider. Karan has been a part of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa for three seasons, and he was the only judge from the previous panel to be retained. Madhuri Dixit and Remo D’Souza who formed the panel with Karan have given way to Shahid and Ganesh Hegde. Earlier, there were doubts about Karan also continuing with the show, but he rubbished those reports and happily gave company to Shahid. His stint, however, will soon come to an end on the show. That is probably the reason, the makers roped in Lauren Gottlieb as the fourth judge. Once Karan leaves, the trio of Shahid, Ganesh and Lauren will judge the show.

Meanwhile…

Shahid’s ‘shaadi ki party’ is the theme for the second episode of the dance reality show. A source informs that all the contestants will be dancing to party songs. The actor, who was in a celebratory mode, shot the episode yesterday and was heard saying he didn’t want anybody to be eliminated.
