There is a bouquet of shows lined up in 2016 for TV viewers
From the supernatural to family dramas and comedy, there is a lot in store for viewers this year. We are delighted to know that Hip Hip Hurray is coming with a third season and the talented Pearl V Puri and Hiba Nawab will be back on screen with Meri Sasu Maa. Moreover, there is a power-packed season two of 24 in the offing. Here is a lowdown.
Silsila Pyar Ka (Star Plus)
From the stables of Rashmi Sharma Productions, Silsila Pyar Ka talks about a dominating mother Janki Tiwari’s (Shilpa Shirodkar) changing equation with her son, Raunak (Abhay Vakil) after he falls in love with Kajal (Chhavi Pandey). It will replace Kuch Toh Hai Tere Mere Darmiyaan.
Krishnadasi (Colors)
There is buzz that this show will replace Naagin in 2016. It talks about Tulsi, who is a devotee of Lord Krishna. Sana Amin Sheikh will be playing the lead role with Chhavi Mittal and Indira Krishnan in strong supporting characters. Chhavi will be a Krishnadasi who has a feud with the Thakur family. It is presented by Kutty Padmini, Optimystix Productions and Colors. The male lead is yet to be fixed. It will go on air from end of January.
Meri Sasu Maa (Zee TV)
A family drama, Meri Sasu Maa will star Pearl V Puri and Hiba Nawab as leads. It is expected to take the place of Qubool Hai from the third week of January. The show talks about Pari (Hiba Nawab), a motherless girl who hopes to find her a mother in her mother-in-law. It is in the comedy genre.
Ek Chutki Sindoor (Life Ok)
Set in a Bengali milieu, it talks about the struggles of a middle-class girl, played by Aalisha Panwar who has to deal with the shadows of her husband’s past. Vatsal Sheth is the main lead of the show. It will go on air in January end or February.
Sita Bhawan (Life Ok)
This show will go on air from March or April on the channel. It will mark the comeback of the gorgeous Kanchi Singh on TV. Sita Bhawan is produced by Khalid Hashmi Production and is a love story.
Mission Sapne 2 (Colors)
The first season had celebrities like Varun Dhawan, Sidharth Malhotra, Harbhajan Singh and others. This year, we will see personalities like Arjun Kapoor, Manish Paul and Vidya Balan living the life of a common man in this reality show. It might replace Bigg Boss 9 or Naagin.
Saubhagyalakshmi (&TV)
This Rashmi Sharma show will be back in an all-new look with Sara Khan, Abigail Jain and Neelam Sylvia. Bollywood actress Sheeba will also be seen on the show. It will talk about the next generation i.e. Pavitra (Sara Khan) and Divya’s (Anupriya Kapoor) daughters.
24 Season 2 (Colors)
Earlier, we saw Jai Singh Rathore (Anil Kapoor) protecting the prime minister, this time he will be in charge of the country’s future. Directed by Abhinay Deo, the thrill, drama and style quotient is expected to be a lot higher. It will start from March.
Woh Teri Bhabhi Hain Paglein (SAB TV)
If you are an Ali Asghar fan you cannot miss this one. He will play the role of a tapori Nathu Nakanadi while Ather Habib will be a businessman. They will try to woo the same girl in different ways. It will replace Yam Hain Hum.
Hip Hip Hurray Season 3 (Zee TV)
Anshuman Malhotra is finalized as one of the leads of the show. It will focus on the lives of teens and deal with issues like peer pressure, sexuality, competition, friendships and so on. It is one of the most loved teen shows of TV and we are eager for this one!
Khatron Ke Khiladi 7 (Colors)
With the dashing Arjun Kapoor as its host, this season is shot in the beautiful locales of Argentina. With celebs like Vivian Dsena, Siddharth Shukla, Tanishaa Mukerji and Sana Saeed in the fray it’s going to be hot on excitement and glamour.
Tamanna (Star Plus)
The show will talk about a young girl from a small village who wants to break social taboos to become a cricketer. The first episode details are yet to be revealed.
