Aamir ‘social crusader’ Khan highlighted some of the most important facts in the season finale episode of Satyamev Jayate 2

Satyamev Jayate 2 went on air earlier this month and in the past 4 episodes, Aamir Khan raised important issues such as the spurt in the number of atrocities against women, Indian police system, importance of waste management and one of the biggest issues of India – corruption. In the season finale episode, which was aired today (March 30), Aamir put forth the country’s current political scenario, which will help every Indian to cast their vote for the right candidate in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

With the able help of statistics, data and thorough research Khan showed us how out of 543 Lok Sabha MPs (Members of Parliament) and 4032 MLAs (Members of Legislative Assembly), 30% (162 in number) and 31% (1264 in number) have criminal cases pending against them respectively. And they treat criminal records and unlawful cases as their achievements. On the other hand, regardless of their criminal records, political parties show no qualms in accepting their nomination papers.

Aamir invited Bitiya’s father, who spoke about Raghuraj Pratap Singh also known as Raja Bhaiya (MLA from Kunda, Uttar Pradesh and Minister of Food and Civil Supplies) immoral behaviour. Bitiya, as the show shows, was assaulted and murdered by Raja Bhaiya. And we did our own little search on Raja, after which we found that UP Police has more than 45 criminal cases of extortion, murder, kidnapping among others against him. He is also said to be involved in many illegal trading activities such as those relating to sand mining from the riverside.

Followers of Ajit Sarkar, member of Bihar Legislative Assembly for Purnea constituency, also remembered him for his benevolence. Ajit was gunned down in Purnia. In 1999, Pappu Yadav was arrested for his murder, who released from jail last year.

The prominent highlight of the show was the presence of Shahabuddin Yaqoob Quraishi, India’s former Chief Election Commissioner. Quraishi revealed that the political parties use funeral vans to hide money meant for voters. He also said that phony weddings are planned sans the groom/bride to arrange free meal for voters.

It was also revealed how the politicos cash in on their negative image to create fear and maintain their ‘market value’. But it’s not only the politicians, who are to be blamed. Voters demand cash, mobile phone, TV set, refrigerator to cast their votes for particular candidates. And it’s not only people from low income groups sell their votes. Middle income groups too show no qualms. As they rightly say in Hindi, “taali ek haath se nahi bajti.”

The fifth and final episode of Satyamev Jayate 2 was overwhemigly disturbing and at the same time it was a reality check for all of us. It made us ponder over who do we cast our precious vote for in the forthcoming elections. As Aamir rightly said, “Na hum bikau hain, aur na humara vote.” So now we know, what we have to do before we get to the polling booths in the next month as we choose our next leader.

Sonam Kapoor’s last appearance on Karan Johar’s popular chat show, Koffee with Karan, along with Deepika Padukone created quite a stir…or should we say a storm? This season, KJo chose to invite Sonam along with her father Anil Kapoor to sip some steaming cups of coffee. And while we expected her to say some spicy things this time around as well, she disappointed us and how, Ms Kapoor’s revelations were rather dumb than spicy.

After watching the entire episode, which was aired last night, one thing is pretty clear, Sonam Kapoor is living in her own fantasy balloon. May be Priyanka Chopra should burst her bubble just as she had given Deepika Padukone a reality check. Sonam actually believes that she is catering to both masses and classes with her movies. According to her if one is not good-looking, he/she is a good actor. Sonam thinks that she is considered as an icon at the age of 20. And here is the best one. Sonam also says that the reason she has survived in the industry is because of the critics…because she doesn’t get bad reviews. We are sure all these statements must have cracked you up, because we were ROFLing after watching this fashionista on the show.

Like we said earlier, Sonam seems to be living in her fantasy bubble. Guess it’s time to burst it, shall we? Time for some reality check, babes. According to Sonam, good looking people are not tagged as good actors. Oh dear, we guess she hasn’t heard names like Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Kangana Ranaut, who have proved that they have the best of both worlds – talent and looks.

Sonam also revealed she is an icon, well, let’s not get there. Because we just couldn’t help but laugh at that one.Yes, she is a fashion icon, but she is not perfect and should we remind her that there are other beauties like Deepika Padukone who are as fashionable as her. But then the Kapoor girl seems that Dippy doesn’t have a style statement of her own and that she tries to copy other when it comes to fashion. Looks like there is a cat fight brewing between these two ladies, which was obvious from Sonam’s not so humble opinions on Ms Padukone.

And finally coming to her survival in the industry and bad reviews statement, wethinks that SK doesn’t read any of her film reviews. From her debut Saawariya,  Players, Mausam, Thank You and even her latest release Bewakoofiyaan failed to impress critics.

The love story is taking a U turn between the emperor and the queen

Jodha (Paridhi Sharma) and Akbar (Rajat Tokas) have realised their love for each other but not yet said anything. Their unconditional love is now being put to test and Maham Anga (Ashwini Kalsekar) is at the helm of things. She has led the emperor to believe that Jodha is having an affair with another man and is secretly meeting him post midnight.

Akbar desperately wants to confront Jodha, but Maham Anga’s words blind him and he punishes his wife without knowing the whole truth. Akbar expels Jodha from the Mughal kingdom and asks her to go back home to Amer. She will leave the palace but will remain in the forest near the palace. When Akbar realises his grave mistake and rushes to apologise to his wife. He beg Jodha to forgive him for not trusting her. The two love birds unite and decide to consummate their marriage at last.

They confess their love for each other for the first time and decide that hence forth no one will ever be able to separate them. The makers plan to shoot a lip-lock scene between Jodha and Akbar, while the rest of the consummation scene will not be shown onscreen.

The lovers will finally unite in body and soul. We are eagerly waiting to see Jodha-Akbar come together, aren’t you?

The Ragini MMS 2 producer talks about her upcoming show Kumkum Bhagya

Ekta Kapoor’s new TV show Kumkum Bhagya marks the comeback of Ekta’s lucky letter ‘K’, but she says it hasn’t been done deliberately. ”‘K’ has come back into my life unknowingly. I am hoping that the success that came with ‘K’ before, comes back with this show,” the 38-year-old said here at the launch of the show.

“I was waiting for a good story to put the letter back in but when we named Kumkum Bhagya, we didn’t realize that it starts with ‘K’. But when it happened, we later suddenly realized that ‘K’ is back,” she added.

The title of most of Ekta’s previous hit TV shows started with ‘K’ such as Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Kaahin Kissii Roz, Kasautii Zindagii Kay and Kasamh Se.

Her current hit TV shows like Bade Acche Lagte Hain and Jodha Akbar are a part of few of her shows which broke the rule.

Talking about Kumkum Bhagya, Ekta says it does not conform to typical rules of television and she is out of her comfort zone with it.

“I am not even able to tell you if it’s a family drama or a love story. I am actually out of my comfort zone with this show. I thought we have so many family dramas on TV and yet there are so many stories that are not being told, simply because they do not conform to the typical rules of television,” Ekta said.

“We have made the show with a lot of heart and we are hoping the heart reaches out to various other hearts of various audiences,” she added.

Kumkum Bhagya goes on air April 15 on Zee TV.

Pooja is the first contestant to have been eliminated from the fifth season of the adventurous reality show

TV actor Pooja Gor, who is the first contestant to be eliminated from Khatron Ke Khiladi 5, says her experience on the action-adventure reality series has helped her conquer her fears to an extent. Her elimination was announced in the episode which was aired last night (March 30).

“I do wish I had survived my elimination stunt and continued to be a part of the thrill and adventure that the show brings. But be it my fear of creepy crawlies or water, I can happily say that I have overcome them all to a great extent,” Pooja said in an interview.

Perceived by many as a shy person, the Kitani Mohabbat Hai and Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya actor displayed her daring side when she went into a tank filled with snakes for the show.

In the elimination round, she found herself in troubled waters as she attempted to pull out dangerous cayman and catfish from deep water tanks. Unfortunately, she failed at completing the task and became the first contestant to bid adieu to the adventurous reality show.

However, she is happy about the journey on the show. “The experience was truly fabulous. Being a part of Khatron Ke Khiladi was always going to be a challenge and I am quite proud of myself for achieving what I have,” she added.

During the course of the show, hosted by filmmaker Rohit Shetty, Pooja found a close friend and confidante in fellow contestant Rochelle Maria Rao with whom she would spend much of her free time.

The new found friends even shed a tear upon learning about Pooja’s exit, but parted ways with the promise to stay in touch.

It was not love at first sight for the actor and director Rohit Raj Goyal, but over time they grew close

Deepika Singh aka Sandhya is all set to tie the knot this May with Diya Aur Baati Hum’s director Rohit Goyal. The actor said that it is a love-arranged marriage. Apparently, her parents met Rohit during Deepika’s sister’s wedding and gave their approval.

Deepika was accepted by his family as well and the two decided to take time off and go on a vacation in May. That is when Rohit said ‘instead of a vacation do you want to get married and go on a honeymoon with me.’ Awwww…. Now isn’t that just cute!

We wonder if Deepika will continue working post her wedding. The actor responds stating that she will never stop working. And the fact that Rohit respects her as an artist and his fiancé is basically why she loves him so.

Looks like Comedy Nights With Kapil‘s Gutthi is losing friends in the entertainment industry

When Sunil Grover walked out of Kapil Sharma’s hit show Comedy Nights With Kapil, there was a war of words between the two. Soon Sunil found an accomplice in television host turned Bollywood actor Manish Paul who joined him as the host of Mad In India, but looks like all’s not well between the two. It seems that the duo is fighting over the show’s format.
While Sunil Grover is happy adding the comic tadka, Paul wants to separate his interview from all the fluff. Manish wants to build this show on the lines of Jay Leno, while the channel feels that the dipping TRPs is a resul of too much talking and less action.

A report even suggests that Manish’s walk out is just a facade and that the Mickey Virus actor cannot quit the show as he is bound by the contract, “He can’t walk out. Koi mazaaq hai kya? He is under contract with the channel. If he leaves he will be taken to court. All these reports of Manish quitting the show are arm-twisting tactics.”

The buzz is also that Sunil if kept away from the show’s scripting, this despite the fact that he is willing to contribute. A source told a popular television site, “Grover is not too happy with the content. He would like the show to lighten up and not take itself too seriously. As for the Manish Paul factor, Grover doesn’t interfere at all. But the channel is going to take a call on how and where to fit in Paul.”

Well, this whole episode is giving us a déjà vu feeling, reminds us of the time when Gutthi quit CNWK, hai na?

Last week we told you that the show is drawing its curtains due to low TRPs, but according to some new developments, the show seems to have got an extension

Sony TV’s Kehta Hai Dil Jee Le Zara which was initially scheduled to go off air on April 24 will now be extended for ten more episodes. According to sources, the show which was to replace Kehta Hai Dil Jee Le Zara is not yet ready to go on air and hence the channel has asked the makers of Sangeeta Ghosh and Ruslaan Mumtaz’s daily soap to continue until their new show is ready.

The show will now go off air sometime in early May. Ruslaan recently tweeted, “Guys all your constant messages and tweets to Sony has really made an impact. We’ve got an extension.” Guess this means that the actor will have to wait for just a bit longer to get back on the Bollywood wagon, no?

We are yet to figure out which show will replace the daily soap. Keep glued to this space for more information on that.

Himanshu Soni, Neha Kaul Uppal (Amrapali) and Abhiram Nain (Ajatshatru) will be meeting Dalai Lama along with their creative producer Ridhwana and producer BK Modi

Buddha, the serial which went on air in September, traces the complete journey of Buddha from King Siddhartha to Lord Gautam Buddha. As per the current track, Buddha is trying out different paths after leaving his palace. The show has been talked about for its unique subject, the performances and costumes. The show completed 30 episodes on Sunday. Siddhartha’s transforming into Gautam Buddha and enlightenment will happen after two weeks.

The unit is going to visit Dalai Lama on April 2. Himanshu Soni who plays Buddha confirms, “In the show my character is under the process of transformation from Siddhartha to Buddha. From the time I started doing Buddha it has been my heart’s desire to meet Dalai Lama. Since producer BK Modi is a follower of Buddha and Dalai Lama, I am getting a good opportunity to meet Dalai Lama in person.” On being asked what he intends to ask Dalai Lama he says, “I think I would be so mesmerised by his sheer presence and aura that I feel I will be speechless. Working in Buddha has changed my attitude towards life.”

Himanshu Soni, Neha Kaul Uppal and Abhiram Nain will be going with creative producer Ridhwana and producer BK Modi to meet Dalai Lama. Ridhwana says, “This is a very special moment for us and the entire team of Buddha. Meeting with His Holiness Dalai Lama (HHDL) was long overdue and we are extremely grateful to him for giving us the time. As the Buddha is now on the path of the enlightenment, it becomes very important and insightful for us to meet with the man himself. The entire team including me is very excited. We would also be discussing with Dalai Lama about his thoughts on our show and the suggestions to take Buddha to the world market. This is indeed a very special moment for everyone.”

Ek Haseena Thi is not exactly a story of revenge instead it spins the tale of a woman’s seeking justice for an inhuman crime committed.

Durga (Sanjeeda Sheikh) is rich, beautiful, brave and knows how to separate the good from the bad. She is on a journey to seek justice for an inhuman crime. Now we don’t know what this crime is, but we are aware that somehow Shaurya (Vatsal Seth) is behind it all. Coming from an affluent family, Sharuya has never heard the word ‘no’ and his family Sakshi and Rajnath Goenka (played by Simone Singh and Ayub Khan) has always made sure that their son gets everything he demands. With power and political support they twist every fight to their benefit, but will Durga change their ploy? Durga will be targeting the Goenkas by becoming an integral part of their life.

The plot roughly seems very close to Channel V’s Paanch, where Roshni Kataria is out to seek answers for the murder of her sister Neha Kataria. She knows that five people from her sister’s college targeted her and finally killed her, so Roshni becomes a part of their group and begins punishing them one by one.

Now don’t both the stories seem somewhat similar, hai na? We believe the basic idea and concept of justice seems rather alike. Guess we will have to wait for the show to launch to confirm our doubts. Keep watching this space for more.

The comedian goes an extra mile to prove his friendship to Sunil Grover

We all know that Star Plus’ Mad in India is not getting good numbers. Even celebrities like Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have rejected the offer to come on board for an episode.

Recent rumours of Manish Paul quitting the show has made Mad in India circle the drain further. So much so that MID will soon shut shop, so we hear.

According a reliable source from the sets, Kapil Sharma is planning to make a special appearance on MID. Apparently, the comedian is coming on the show to boost the morale of the actors and more so his close friend Sunil Grover. The source further informed us that Kapil is appearing on MID to prove that Sunil and his relationship has turned sour even if the actor quit Comedy Nights with Kapil.

The Naa Aana Is Des Laado actor will be entering the show, Sasural Simar Ka as a simple desi girl

After Kanika Shivpuri and Karuna Verma, actress Shivangi Sharma joins the cast of TV show Sasural Simar Ka as Bhakti, a simple traditional girl. Earlier seen in shows like Naa Aana Is Des Laado, Yahaan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli, Savdhaan India and Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev, the young actor is excited about playing Bhakti.

“It’s going to be a very interesting character, with viewers getting to see a new side of me. I’ve taken it up as a challenge and look forward to being a part of the show,” Shivangi said in a statement.

Her character Bhakti is shown has a simple girl with the right qualities of a homemaker, and she comes across as a very loving and caring individual, said a source.

The popular Ekta Kapoor show is all set to draw curtains and unlike most daily soaps, this one will end with a death

According to a source from the sets of Bade Acche Lagte Hain, Ram Kapoor has threatened to leave the show ‘coz of his prior commitments. He recently had a meeting with the czarina, Ekta Kapoor and requested to either end the show or his character, ‘coz eh just cannot juggle anymore between his film commitments and the daily soap.

Apparently, Ekta tried convincing the portly hero, but Ram was adamant on leaving the show. If rumours are to be believed, the makers are now planning to kill the character off. Recently, we saw Ram asking Priya Kapoor (Sakshi Tanwar) to come back home and informs her that he will take care of Pihu (Sonia Balani) or anyone who opposes them. Pihu is miffed with her father for getting Priya back and has threatened her father to abandon her husband Sammy if Ram and Priya reunite. Ram obviously has had enough and asks her to get out of the Kapoor mansion.

Pihu is angry with Priya and in order to take revenge will plot to kill her, but Ram intervenes and dies instead. Now we are not sure as to how Pihu will do this.

With RK back on Madhubala Ek Ishq Ek Junoon, one wondered what will happen to Abhay Kapoor

Gunjan Utreja walked in as the new antihero in Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon after Vivian DSena’s sudden exit from the show a few months ago. Now with Vivian back to romance Drashti Dhami aka Madhu on the show, will Gunjan be sidelined? Well, the actor is not worried about Vivian’s comeback on the show. In fact he doesn’t feel threatened by the old popular hero’s re-entry on the show. In a recent interview Utreja said, “I’m not insecure about Vivian’s entry at all. Neither did he leave because of me, nor have I been asked to step out because he’s back. Even Vivian was criticised, but look how popular he is now. It did take a while for the audience to accept my ­character, but I am ­overwhelmed by their ­acceptance now. The lines between the hero and the villain have thinned. So, yes, you will get to see a different me soon as he and I turn rivals on the show.”

Well, we are sure that Abhay Kapoor isn’t threatened right now, but we will not be surprised if his character will take a backseat once Drashti and Vivian‘s romantic track takes the centre stage.

The best friends have a verbal fight publicly, we wonder if it’s the end of their friendship

Drashti Dhami and Sanaya Irani have been the best of friends during their struggling days. They claim to have given several auditions together and today they are two of the top telly stars.

Drashti did Geet Huyi Sabse Parayi followed by Madhubala Ek Ishq Ek Junoon and then won the Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6 trophy. Sanaya on the other hand had a few flops before she did Miley Jab Hum Tum, Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon and is now busy with Rangrasiya on Colors.

Both the shows are in a way competing with each other, but these things never affected their friendship. Sanaya even danced with Drashti on the stage of Jhalak to show her support. Rumour has it that Sanaya is following Drashti’s footsteps and will be seen in the dance reality show’s seventh season.

Having said all that, we heard that the duo had a war of words outside the sets of Madhubala Ek Ishq Ek Junoon. While we are not aware what the squabble was all about, an eye witnesses says that volumes were raised and abused were hurled. This definitely looks like the end of an era for their long friendship. Let’s hope they come to their senses, set their differences aside and patch up.

The source also told us that the lead opposite Gurmeet has not been selected as of yet, as the makers are still deliberating on a new face or to cast Debina Bonnerjee opposite her hubby. Gurmeet has not yet given his nod. Apparently, Debina will only be considered if her hubby decides to do this project. The love birds have been doing two shows together – Nach Baliye and now Khatron Ke Khiladi 5. Guess that would make it easier to decide for this new project.

Well does that mean, Gurmeet will put his Bollywood career and dreams on hold or will the actor give this show a miss?

The actor apparently apologised for making an untimely error and putting the show in jeopardy

A few months back Karan Singh Grover walked out of the popular Zee TV show – Qubool Hai stating that he had health issues and wanted to take a back seat from doing daily soaps. This decision did not go down well with the channel and they claimed that the actor was unprofessional. KSG made his point in an interview explaining his side of the story.

The channel and Four Lions Films brought in Raqesh Vashisth to replace Karan as Asad in Qubool Hai. While the actor was good at what he does usually, fans of the show did not take it well. They demanded that their original Asad should be brought back to the show. Fans tweeted, mailed, called up and harassed everyone from the channel, show and even us reporters to bring Karan back on the show. Well, looks like all their demands and requests have finally worked.

According to a khabroo, Karan had a tête-à-tête with the head honchos of the channel where the hero apologised for quitting the show. And the makers agree that getting Karan back will boost the TRPs to a great extent.

So post the 20 year leap fans will get to see their favourite AsYa – Asad and Zoya (Surbhi Jyoti) romancing each other onscreen.

Rajev Paul earlier married to Delnaaz Irani has finally moved on in life and decided to publicly announce his new relationship by getting engaged.

Rajev and Kavita Sarin met socially and became friends before they considered getting engaged.
