Is Aaradhya handling Amitabh Bachchan’s Twitter account?

Recently a tweet from Sr Bachchan had us believe that his two-year old grand-daughter was tweeting on his behalf

Amitabh Bachchan is popular for tweeting profound quotes on introspective subjects on his Twitter handle. But last night a tweet from BigB caught our attention not because of its profundity but because of the number of naughty emoticons used in the tweet! BigB’s frivolous tweet got even funnier responses from the fans.

Looks like the youngest gizmo freak in the Bachchan household, Aaradhya caught hold of Sr Bachchan’s IPad or phone and tried connecting with his fans in her grand-dad’s absence!

BigB hasn’t replied so far thus, it looks like he has been so busy with work and upcoming show Yudh that this tweet probably skipped his attention. We’ll have to wait for Mr Bachchan to reveal whether it was his grand-beti or someone hacked into his Twitter account to post random tweets.

The Pakistani actor strongly believes that exchange of content from Pakistan to India will develop better relations between the two nations

She grew up watching the films of Bollywood’s late ethereal beauty Madhubala, has enjoyed new wave Indian gems like Parineeta and Barfi!, and loves to catch up on Comedy Nights With Kapil. But Samina Peerzada, a veteran actor-filmmaker from Pakistan, says exchange of content from Pakistan to India has been “long-awaited” and will help find a connect.

“I think it has been long-awaited – this exchange of content from Pakistan to India. We’re glad that viewers in India will now hear the voice of Pakistan; will have a face to our country; see our lives; feel our emotions; issues; and see our commonalities through our shows,” the 59-year-old told a source.

Indian shows have for long been lapped up in Pakistan – but viewers had to rely on pirated recordings.

The internet opened the gates and allowed people to access Pakistani shows via online video-sharing platform YouTube.

But Zindagi TV-Jodey Dilon Ke, a new offering from Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL), is now taking stories from across the border to Indian viewers’ bedrooms by officially treating them with some of Pakistan’s best shows.

With Zindagi Gulzar Hai, Samina has already found a fan following here and now one of her old shows, Noorpur Ki Rani, an adaptation of English novel “Rebecca”, is set to be beamed on the channel starting Monday.

“It’s wonderful how, through art, dance and music, people across the world have learnt to celebrate each other’s cultures.

“Through Zindagi channel, we’re excited to showcase Pakistan’s stories to India. It’s a positive change,” added Samina, who was born into a Muslim family in Lahore, and had to patiently convince her parents to let her pursue her passion for acting.

She started her career in 1976 with Nazdikiyan, following which she featured in Bazaare Husn and Khawahish.

Widely travelled, she has done her bit in theatre and she also went behind the camera for films like Inteha and Shararat, apart from working as an actress in a slew of TV shows.

Now she says she’s hoping to plan a co-production with an Indian producer for some “great storytelling”.

“I hope India gets to sample the new wave of cinema in Pakistan. Our hope is that when you release your films in India, a Pakistani film gets a simultaneous release,” she said, pointing out the positive response that films like Khuda Kay Liye and Bol from her nation received at the Indian box-office.

Samina says she’s been visiting India off and on since 1979 and has been witness to its economic, political and cultural development.

“There are some wonderful people, and I have some great friends in Mumbai, from Bollywood, and then I have some friends in Delhi and Kolkata. I love visiting them,” she said while also sharing that she’s looking forward to coming back to India in August for a brief visit.

She believes “things will be different now”, courtesy Zindagi.

“I think it will open new avenues for artists and talent, as well as facilitate more interaction and sharing of ideas between the two countries,” said the actress-filmmaker, who herself is ready to face the cameras here as she is “free”.

“I can travel anywhere in the world to act. And India? Absolutely,” she exclaimed.

When she comes to India – there are two people whom she definitely wants to meet – one is Bollywood’s dancing diva Madhuri Dixit and the other is the star standup comedian Kapil Sharma.

“Madhuri is so pretty and she dances so beautifully. I want to meet her when I come down this time, and Kapil for sure! When I come back home after a hard day at work, I unwind with Kapil’s show. It brings me back to life.”

Such is the heart’s connect between people in the two nations.

Two fans who visited his show Comedy Nights with Kapil claim that they had a terrible experience and won’t see the show again

A first person account of two girls who were part of the audience on the show

So a normal episode of Comedy Nights With Kapil is all fun and laughs, right? Wrong! “It was the worst experience of our life”, say Vishaka and Vaishali Kumar (names changed to protect identity), who were recently on the sets of Comedy Nights With Kapil as part of the live audience. Disappointed and disgusted, they now say that they would never wish the experience on anyone. This is how their day unfolded…

11 am: We reach Flim City and are made to wait in a place reserved for audiences. Our phones, handbags, water and other belongings are taken from us and put in a large bin.

1 pm: They finally take us in and start allotting places. It is clear that the prettier faces and the nicer looking people were being seated prominently. After being shown our seats, our wait continues.

2 pm: Kapil enters. The first thing he does is yell at the crew members. He doesn’t even bother to greet the audience. A small act is filmed and we are given a lunch break.

2.30 pm: It’s a 15-minute lunch break. We have to order food, whereas the VIP audience gets to indulge in a special buffet arranged by the channel.

2.45 pm: They rush us back on the set saying the show was going to start, but it is another long wait.

4 pm: The act finally starts but it so repetitive that we get bored. During a break, when some people requested a meeting with Kapil, they were refused. Only the VIP audience was allowed to meet and click pictures with him.

5 pm: Kapil auditions the crowd. Some are asked to change into the clothes provided. Then some people were selected and asked to dance. Only those who dance horribly are chosen. The good dancers are not selected to go up on the stage. Then he selects the audience (based on their personality) to ask questions to the stars. Not just that, they were even fed the questions they had to ask the actors.

8 pm: We’re just sitting and waiting. By now, several senior members were complaining of pain in their legs and backs. People are not allowed to leave their seats, even though we’ve been waiting nine hours by now. The wait continues as Siddhu hasn’t arrived. Till this point, no shooting is done. Some in the audience are bored and irritated and want to leave but the crew members refuse to let them go and get rude with them.

9 pm: The show starts. We are not even allowed to drink water, whereas the VIP audience gets to. They even leave and come whenever they want. I am shocked because a fan is a fan and everyone should be treated equally. I want to call my parents and inform them that I would be late but when I get up, a crew member yells at me and I am forced to go back and sit. Finally, I borrow a phone from a someone in the VIP enclosure and call my dad.

12 midnight: Everything is going smoothly and crew members sit in each row with the audience and make us clap, laugh and cheer at various points.

1 am: Finally the show ends and we are allowed to leave.

“I am a fan of the show but I am so disappointed with Kapil. He has no respect for his fans. The crew was rude and arrogant in their approach. My experience was such a nightmare that I will never even think of watching Comedy Nights With Kapil again.”

The comedian made a surprise visit on the reality show auditions and stunned a contestant, who looked a lot like her

Delhi’s Ruchika Rawat had no idea that her Cinestar Ki Khoj audition would turn out to be so entertaining. While the contestant was performing, the judges decided to surprise her by bringing in Bharti Singh to distract her.

The original idea was to check Ruchika’s presence of mind. Bharti apparently ended up having a lot of fun with Ruchika. The contestant seemed to take everything in good stride. Ruchika and Bharti did an impromptu act leaving the judges in splits. Talking about her journey, Ruchika said, “The only people who I cannot tolerate are people who crack bad jokes. I am a complete Bollywood buff and I am glad that I finally had the chance to present myself on national television.”

Cracking PJs all evening, Ayushmann Khurrana, who was a special guest on the show, was glad to finally have someone laughing at all his silly jokes. The Vicky Donor actor had a blast on the show watching Bharti and Ruchika’s comic act. He even joined the duo and began cracking jokes of his own, only to have judges Sonali Bendre and director Victor pull him back to the judges’ panel.

While everyone had a lot of fun, only time will tell whether Ruchika will turn out to be as successful as Ayushmann – who was once a Cinestars Ki Khoj aspirant himself!

Considering Kapil is quite close to Salman Khan and his family, this piece of information isn’t that surprising, hai na? Apparently, it’s the same film which Arjun Kapoor turned down not too long ago.

While talking to a leading daily, source said, “Salman is extremely fond of Kapil. On Saturday, Kapil had a word with Sohail about his new film. Both Salman and Sohail have assured Kapil that they will bail him out of the current mess.”

Interestingly, Kapil was supposed to star in Sohail’s film Sher Khan. However, the deal fell off coz the film got shelved. Well, let’s hope things fall into place this time around at least for the sake of Kapil Sharma’s filmi career!

Jai Kalra: I am closer to Tarana and Sakshi from Bade Acche Lagte Hain

Jai aka Vikram Shergill of Bade Acche Lagte Hain talks about his journey with the popular Sony TV show, why the daily soap failed to garner TRPs, his close friends on the show and more

Jai Kalra is a fabulous actor, who is much grounded in spite of all his popularity and fame. He started his career with negative roles, but we love him more as the adorable Vikram Shergill. Jai shares his experience of working on BALH and his journey forward in an exclusive interview with BollywoodLife. Read excerpts…

How has your two year long experience been on Bade Acche Lagte Hain?

The journey has been amazing. We’ve all bonded so well and have developed a wonderful relationship with each other. The cast and crew of BALH are like my second family. It is sad that we have to move now.

Why do you think the show needed to end?

BALH had reached a saturation point. They had explored every angle in the story. When the show began, the focus was on Ram and Priya – which was a novel concept, but how long can you keep the audiences’ hooked on that. Nonetheless, the show is very special to me. It went on for more than two years, which is quite commendable.

Do you think the show lost TRPs because the attention shifted from Ram and Priya?

It’s a daily soap, which keep evolving every day. To take the story ahead, concentrating on the next generation is a basic requirement. How long could the makers concentrate on just Ram and Priya.

Who are you closest to on the sets of BALH?

Well I am close to Neha aka Tarana Raja Kapoor. She plays my onscreen wife and we share an amazing friendship on the sets. Besides her, I think I was close to Sakshi Tanwar.

So you were not too close to Ram Kapoor?

When the show started Ram and I had a lot of scenes together, but as the years went by and he got busy with his movie schedules; we barely had spent any time together. I do have a great bond with Ram too, but over the time it was just Neha and Sakshi.

Why didn’t you ever consider leaving the show?

I didn’t want to leave the show mid way. I had given my commitment and wanted to stick around till the end.

You started your career with negative shades, but playing Vikram put you on the map. How does that feel?

Well I did a negative role in Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil, post which I was being offered similar roles. I took up Bhaskar Bharti even though I had to play a negative shade ‘coz the script was interesting and unlike anything I had done before. When Bade Acche Lagte Hain happened, it was a chance to do something different and exciting. The character of Vikram has given me a lot.

So is Jai Kalra as dear and darling as Vikram?

Well, I don’t think I can answer that. You will have to ask my wife to know that one.

You have started shooting for Laut Aao Trisha. How is your role different?

I can’t reveal much about the role to you just yet, but it is a positive character. When I read the script, I immediately knew it was perfect for me.

Amidst high expectations, the Modi Government will present its first general budget today (June 10) at 11 am

Prime Minister Narendra Modi faces the first major test, when his fresh-faced government presents its maiden budget today (June 10). Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley, along with Minister of State, Nirmala Sitharaman, has left North Block to present the Union Budget 2014-15 at Parliament House. And while there are hopes running high amongst the masses of the nation, people from telly land are no different. We got in touch with various small screen actors and asked their expectations from the Modi government. Here is what they had to say:

Gurmeet Choudhary: This is the first budget after the formation of the new government. So I want it to be beneficial for the people, who have supported Narendra Modi. There needs to be damage control.

Karan Wahi: I really have no idea how this budget thing works. So it would not make any sense for me to comment. All I can say is that it should be benefit the masses of the nation.

Mouli Ganguly: I am really hoping that it’s sensible. There are lot of people, who have been blaming the new government, so let’s just hope that this budget is a good answer to all the blamers. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Rithvik Dhanjani: There was a high inflation when the earlier government presented the budget. An inflation of 38.7% to be precise. So this time, I want the new government to clear all the mess and I am hoping it will.

Union Budget 2014: Aishwarya Sakhuja, Ruslaan Mumtaz, Adaa Khan, Rashami Desai talk about their expectations from Narendra Modi’s budget plan

The is the first test of Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister to make a budget that is people and economic friendly, as there are huge expectations riding on him

BollywoodLife got in touch with a few telly stars to know what are their expectations from the budget this year, what tax benefits would they personally wish for and what they think the government should make their priority.

Read on to know what the stars have to say…

Gunjan UtrejaI expect simple tax reformation. From state to state, taxes vary and are high. Taxation policies need to be changed and common man’s life should be better and affordable if not luxurious.

Aishwarya Sakhuja: What am I expecting from the budget is less of these ridiculous taxes whenever once steps out to eat in a restaurant…judicious pricing of fuel and a more systematic form of taxation that gives a fixed date of getting your TDS refunds etc as there is a fixed date of filing your returns..I don’t know if it’s possible in our country or not but an explanation for how our taxes are being used bit by bit how you have in other developed nations.

Manish Raisinghani: Latest Surveys show good news that the GDP is going to rise to 5.4 to 5.9 in 2014-15 compared to 4.5 in 2012-13. The price raise in everything does concern me like everyone else. But I am somehow of the belief that the current government is not following a populist policy to please people. It is doing what our house which is India needs at this point of time and is doing what is needed to get us out of this crisis…. the budgets should not be focused on pleasing people for short term but should target a long term growth of our nation. At least this is what I hope for.

Srman Jain: My expectation is that the, tax burden on our country’s middle class service men and small businessmen is reduced.

Ruslaan Mumtaz: Hoping it will not be a populist budget. We have voted for a majority government and its time they take bold decisions, which have been put on the back burner for too long now. I’m hoping a lot more is done for infrastructure ‘coz that’s one of the major drawbacks in India. Half the energy of Indians is spent in traveling.

Yash Sinha: Well, I m positive…I m sure it is going to be a practical budget which is the need of the hour. Mr. Modi does not believe in appeasement politics…and thank God, for that Mr. Modi will present an apt budget with honest intent in his heart…

Neil Bhatt: 1. Lowering or waiving off service tax on the entertainment industry. 2. Tax liability slab to be increased. 3. Cut down the prices of petrol and diesel.

Samiksha Bhatnagar: The formation of the new government has raised the hopes and expectations of everyone. Right from relaxation in price hikes to better facilities, the governments is now expected to perform on a lot of areas now. New Reforms expected and some green signals for some major initiatives like National Health Assurance Mission, which is set to give a strong healthcare system to the poor across the country. Government may take steps to ensure the availability of affordable housing, with the hope that home loan interest deduction limit is raised from Rs 1,50,000 to Rs 3,00,000. Opening Railways to private sector, laying tracks for High-Speed Bullet Trains. In addition to that, to ensure that the youth of the country are tapped as a resource and is likely to take steps to increase jobs. Must take steps to cut down on food inflation that has shot up to 9.5 percent in May. The media and entertainment industry has progressed steadfastly and the number of releases has increases twice fold in last few years. In order to increase the number of screens, the industry should get tax concessions to encourage the expansion of screens.

Adaa KhanReduction in prices of normal house hold stuff like vegetables gas etc.. Medical expenses, also extra effort for female security like CCTV on trains. Tax should be reduced for females… education fees should be reduced. Corruption should be controlled. Fuel rates should be brought down…it is very difficult to survive in such inflation.

Rahul Raj Singh: The problem all along in our country has been that the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, I would expect that the new financial budget has such provisions so as to enable the poor and middle class families to get the three basic necessities that is home food and clothing at a more affordable rate. I hope that the poverty line is greatly reduced. So I expect the new government to bring about these changes and to eradicate poverty as much as possible from our country.

Sneha Wagh: Financial budget should be common man friendly ! I know it’s a difficult time for Mr. prime minister to get everything back on track. Let’s show him our trust and support. The taxes should reduce in every area.

Vivek MishraI want this budget to make daily goods economical. Specially gas and fuel as without them a common man can’t live. There should be subsidy on makeup for Rakhi Sawant.

Piyush Sahdev: The entertainment tax should reduce. Vegetable prices and service tax levied in stores on the purchase of product and Petrol prices should be reduced.

Mrunal JainThe common man should be able to afford basic amenities. The vegetable prices and inflation of rates in everything needs to be reduced.

Ssharad Malhotraa: The budget should focus on making living economical. Taxation policies should be improvised for the TV industry as TV industry provides lot of employment.

Rashami Desai: I feel everyone should have what is needed for basic living. The prices of everything should not increase. Food, clothing and shelter should be taken care of. Petrol prices should be reduced with immediate effect.

Vahbiz DorabajeeThe common man needs should be kept in mind. Price hike of petrol should not be done rather it should be reduced. Roti, Kapada aur Makan are needed by everyone.

Siddhant Karnick: The budget should focus on making things economical and affordable especially the ones which a common man can’t do without like vegetable, clothes, grains, toothpastes, biscuits etc. The taxes should be reduced not forgetting the huge populations are paying for it.

Sreesanth is the fifth contestant to bid adieu to the celebrity dance reality show

S Sreesanth’s journey on the seventh season of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa has finally come to end. Yes, the former cricketer received the lowest number of votes which has resulted in his ouster from the show, which is judged by Madhuri Dixit, Karan Johar and Remo D’souza.

Surrounded with a lot of controversies, Sree took a bold step when he decided to be a contestant on JDJ 7. Starting with not so impressive performances, Sreesanth indeed made a good progress during his stint. His last week’s act however couldn’t impress the judges and of course the audiences, which is quite evident from his elimination. Although his stint in this dance reality show will indeed be something which we can’t forget.

Though Sreesanth might be out of the show, but we certainly would want to see this man on other reality shows.

Udaan promo: Sai Deodhar returns to television with a socially uplifting story!

After shows like Balika Vadhu, Laado, Bhagyavidhaata, Rishton Se Badi Pratha and several others Colors is back with another hard hitting story – Udaan

A few weeks back we told you about Sai Deodhar making a comeback to TV with a new show. Well the first look of the daily soap is out and the story definitely seems like another social drama.

While we are very touched with the fact that Colors takes the initiative to bring to its viewers shows on hard hitting topics like child marriage, forced marriages and female infanticide; we must add that they should really try to introduce some light-hearted soaps too. Coming to the promo of Udaan, the show seems like a takeoff on the plight of bonded labours who sell their lands, jewellery to money lenders when they in desperate need for cash.

Four things we liked about the trailer of Udaan

#It’s great to see Sai Deodhar back on the screen in a role we’ve probably never seen her do.

# The concept of a couple readily agreeing to mortgage their unborn child for a little money to bury the dead is shocking beyond belief.

# At the end of the promo, a child is born and they talk about her flying to achieve great heights in life. It’s the first sign of positivity in the entire trailer.

# We’ve always wanted to live each day as it comes and not think too far in the future, yet life never lets you do that. The minimum wage labourer and his wife are forced to live one day at a time, without a second glance into their future yet they manage to smile at the dilemmas of life.

Watch the promo and tell us what you think peeps!

He maybe a funny man onscreen but off the camera Kapil Sharma has courted quite a few controversies. Let’s take a look at the not-so-funny side of nation’s most loved comedian

Kapil Sharma is a known face in biz world courtesy his popular show Comedy Nights with Kapil. The talented stand-up comedian is no doubt good at what he does. In fact, he is one of best in the business. He pokes fun at everyone, entertains B-town celebs and most importantly his fans and audience. But his witty persona is just for the camera it seems. Off screen Sharma, like every other celeb, has thrown his weight around and starry tantrums too. Hard to believe but that’s the story of every successful star, isn’t it? So here are three big controversies involving the CNWK host

Apart from Kapil, what really worked for Comedy Nights was Sunil Grover’s character Gutthi. Apparently, due to creative differences between KS and Sunil, the latter was asked to leave the show. Later, reports did the rounds that Kapil had patched with his colleague and even wanted him back his comedy show. However, the channel and wasn’t on the same page as Kapil and hence there was no comeback by Gutthi.

Then came the whole Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) walk-out episode. Kapil took on none other than Salman Khan here. The comedian was suppose to host the inaugural day of CCL along with Mandira Bedi, but the former left the organisers in a fix by backing out at the last minute. Reports did the rounds that Kapil and his team walked out as their demands weren’t met. We hear Sharma wanted a vanity van ad his team also asked for few other things from the organisers.

And the latest one, I am sure, you’ll know. Just a few days back, we told you about Kapil Sharma and Yash Raj Films parting ways. Though YRF’s official statement claimed the decision was mutual, hush-hush whispers in tinsel town suggest otherwise. Reportedly, Kapil wasn’t giving time to his debut film Bank Chor which was being made under Y Films. In fact, the comedian even demanded few changes in the script, we hear. And that’s the reason why he was shown the exit door and replaced by Riteish Deshmukh.

The YRF deal was a big ticket to Bollywood for Kapil. But now that its off the table, we wonder how badly will it affect Mr Sharma’s plans to make a grand acting debut.

Life OK is coming up with a new show based on a mature love story

We recently told you about Sonali Bendre coming to the small screen for a fiction show opposite Samir Soni in the lead. Well rumours suggest that Soni has backed out of the show to make way for Apurva Agnihotri, who plays a rich business tycoon. Apparently, Samir Soni’s role was first offered to Parvin Dabbas, but due to some unavoidable issues the actor backed out and Apurva came in as the final choice.

The baddie from Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara will be playing the main lead in the show, who falls in love with Sonali Bendre’s character. The show titled Bade Dhoke Hai Is Raah Mein Pyaar Ke will also have Harsh Chhaya playing Sonali’s husband in the show, who gets trapped in a corruption case.

From what we’ve heard so far, the show seems to be different and definitely something to watch out for. But we’ll save our verdict until the show starts or at least till the promos hit the screens.
